New Skydweller

I had the opportunity to see the new Sky-dweller at Baselworld. I have been somewhat torn (I recently purchased the Lange 1 Timezone), but I think the blue Sky-dweller looks fantastic. Its definitely the next watch on my list.

I wonder if they'll be scarce like the Daytona C, BLNR, D-Blue, etc.

I avoid multiple complication watches because I worry about reliability and cost of service. How do Rolex high complication watches fare?

I like the Sky Dweller line-up. PM, TT and SS. Great complication and size on the watch. My next incoming in PM.

Found this video of the new Skydweller. I was torn from the pictures, but looks pretty damn amazing in the vid!

perhaps with larger production it will decrease. sometimes is the case. that said 2500 every 5-10 years for this type of movement is par for the course. makes buying it new with full warranty all that more important imo.

I like the idea of a SkyDweller in stainless steel (mainly because I don't have the white gold model).

I do like the white dial but the blue does nothing for me.
It looks too dark.

Might look better in the flesh?

A link for confirmation would be good rather than 'I heard' Elliot?

But 2k wouldn't surprise me given the complexity of the bezel driven gears and the associated water proofing.

Curious to know where these reports of £2000 to service a sky dweller have emerged from? Is it from confirmed services TRF'ers have had done on their PM versions of the Sky Dweller?

I rang RSC/Head office yesterday and asked for various model servicing prices...and they said the Sky Dweller is currently about £650ish, and given the new SS version is the same movement that the price is likely to be the same, but seeing as the watch is so new no formal pricing info has been released for servicing it yet. Sounded pretty believable to me.

Its a beauty go sure, although my preference is the black in this model, (that may change when they hit the AD's)

it was corrected by ak797 earlier in this thread.

It's a beautiful watch. That service price hurts though.

Under £1K was what most of us thought but on TZ-UK 2 forum members have been told by RSC it was £2K to service the SkyD. Just passing on what I read so best to contact your local RSC if this is a potential issue altho you do have 5 years warranty ofc.

I tried on the PM version on Sunday and ordered mine. Chuck, great to hear the sanity check on the service cost. Nicely done. Thanks for quelling the scare news. I have one other thing to say!!!

It's not scare news. Just passing on info and stating the source which should NEVER be discouraged.
