Incoming X2: YG and WG Sky-Dwellers

Just completed a deal with Trusted Seller JustRolexes, Tony Geha, and it was a smooth as always. After much discussion and negotiation we came to terms and out when two Day Date II's, one platinum and the other YG. While I love the way the Day Date II looks I could never get the bracelet to wear right. With no micro adjustment the watch was either too tight or too loose, based on the fact that the only way to adjust it is to add or take out links. I have owned Day Date II's for more than five years and it was time for me to move on and see if something worked better for me. I had been looking at the Sky-Dweller at my AD and from everything I could determine by being in the store it appeared that it would work. I followed Basel 17 and was very pleased with the introduction of the TT and SS Sky-Dweller and I saw it as a commitment to the model by Rolex. Like the Daytona, Submariner or GMT you can buy the watches in different metals and there is something for most peoples tastes and budgets. I also think that the PM watch buyer may not be the same as the TT or SS buyer or they may have PM watches in another style, model or brand and want something different. The watch fits beautifully and the 42 mm case is substantial but not too large. I am a bigger person at 6'5" and 260 lbs. so it appears balanced based on my size. Will it stay in the line-up long term? If first impressions mean anything the answer is yes but only time will tell.

Congrats!! Great choices!!!

I have had ivory dial/bracelet version for ~3years and still love it. I might add the black dial/arabic one in the future.

Beautiful watches. Im surprised you went with two of the same watch. You also did that with your DD having both a Plat and YG version. Is there a reason you like two different metal types on the same watch rather then lets say two different metal types on different watches?

Yes, I like the same watch in different metals based on the look of the metal. Works well for me but I also have about 8 others to choose from. If I only had two they would not be the model.

Yellow Gold for me to not look like SS models!
But I can't say white gold doesn't look nice!
I have rose gold!

There is nothing worse than having one of these magnificent timepieces and not having it fit right.
You made the correct call.
Congrats!

WOW! Huge congrats on a great watch! Enjoy! I went with the YG silver dial myself as my one and only PM. Obviously it's my favorite PM.

My man, William...yes!

Two of my favorites in that line, but that WG one...l just love it. Been eyeing Tony's sale on this piece for some time, but just couldn't work up the nerve to pull the trigger.

Congrats, sir and well done.

Huge congrats I couldn't agree more with you that Rolex nailed it with the release of the SS version as it opens up the market for those of us who can only afford this gorgeous piece at a lower price point!

Wear it in good health!
