How to complete this Trio

Hey guys, this is one of my first post on TRF, I have been here for a while, looking at the different topics on a daily basis.. but now it's my turn, and I'd like to hear thoughts of the community on completing a trio.

I have 6 watches at the moment but for some reasons I feel like the golden number is 3, three watches to cover all situations (note that I do not look for any dress watch)

The two contenders that are staying for sure are the following:

Daytona 116500 LN

GMT 116710BLNR

I think these twi are pretty complementary but I feel like something is missing, a complication? a light dial? I am not sure yet.. however, one thing i know is that I need the date !

I thought about the following:

- Sky Dweller TT Blue dial, I love it but i don't know if they feel as big on the wrist as the PM versions

- DateJust 41 blue dial ! Simple and efficient

- AP 15400 (silver dial)

But I am sure I am missing some beauties, what would you guys complete this duo with :) ? Would love to hear some suggestions !

Cheers,

The SkyD is a great choice, but I would also consider a Day Date...that would give you a PM as well.

Nice start. I feel the sky dweller is a GMT replacement ams as I love that complication I would look elsewhere. I feel you're either missing a classic, like a sub, milgauss (blue green seems a nice start) or an explorer I, or even better, with this I mean dressier, a DD, 36mm, pref. Plat ice blue. And that's just considering current new offerings.

There is no wrong answer, but the AP Royal Oak offers you something considerably different than what you already have.

the skyd is a great complication so in your shoes that' what i'd get. but the AP is compelling only for brand diversity... if you feel you need that in your collection. i'm not saying you do at all. maybe the skyd in white? gives you a lighter dial... but the blue would be hard to pass on.

I would have said AP 15400 in blue, esp as you have 2 Rolexes, but that SkyD is quite the game changer, I'd try on both and then make your best choice, both wear quite a bit larger than your two there.

I'm a huge fan of the DJ 41 blue sunray dial + fluted WG bezel + oyster braclet just like you show it. Otherwise a DD 40 in WG with blue dial and your choice of hour markers. Cheers!

3 great choices and two solid starters.

I am most intrigued by the sky in SS (but not much of a fluted bezel fan)

My Outside the box choice would be a nautilus 5711 blue.

Within Rolex , would say DJ 41 or polar explorer II. I also would favor steel nautilus over RO.

You know, I was going to say those aren't all the same arms and was about to call BS on this thread.

There's quite a price difference with all 3 of your options. I'd get the new DJ and a hulk for a nice 3-in-the-box-one-on-the-wrist combo. That would be a well balanced collection. Failing that I think you have to go for the AP

My trio: I'd keep the 500, flip the BLNR towards a blue Sky-Dweller (or that DJ41) and pick up the RO.

Thanks a lot for the nice and fast answers :)

A few things to mention, first I took all the images from the internet for simple reason, I have my daytona on the wrist for now, the other ones are at the safe so I thought it'd be better to have good looking and instant images !

Also, I forgot to mention the budget, that would be around 14k$ max, and I am open to second hand pieces !

In my current collection I already have a SubC 114060 as well as a 116610LV but I feel like the three of them (including the GMT) have this quite similar look (even though comparing each one on one are really different) but the pro case, the oyster bracelet, the mercedes hands... all this makes me want to flip the subs and keep the gmt.

Thank you for your suggestions, I think I do need to try out both the DJ and the SkyDweller indeed,

Sky Dweller would be my choice between the offered options.
