Opinions needed on this 16750

Please could folk let me know what they think of this. I'm aware that there is a forum report of a customer having trouble with this seller in the past but I did buy a watch from them myself and they were ok.

Just need some opinions on this as I can't spot a lot of what you will yet. A 16750 and a 16700

I dont know the seller. Pics aren't great of the 50. I think you go with a matte over gloss full set and it looks good now but I would want more and better (macro) pics.

Yeh, I’d have to go and see it but I’d want to be reasonably confident before viewing. The crown guards look fairly good to me though which is a good sign.

Looks pretty solid to me - I'd wait for Spinger or one of the Pepsi experts to chime in.

I'd agree with going 16750 Matte over the 16700. No question on that one.

What are your concerns about the watch? Originality? Condition?

I have been wanting a vintage for quite some time and you can read everything but until you get the chance to exam a few you can't get any experience. My issue is the reputation of the seller, I bought a nice 16710 from them earlier in the year and they were alright with me, it was still stickered, boxed etc so it was pretty easy to see that all was ok with it but there was a thread on TRF on how they sold a vintage that wasn't what was claimed. Now, IMO they probably didn't do it on purpose, as far as I'm aware they aren't specifically vintage experts but that doesn't mean that they don't get the odd nice vintage piece in stock but I wouldn't buy without an expert opinion.

That's the best response so far.

So, because it was less expensive four years ago, what does that mean? I could be wrong but everything was less expensive four years ago - have you priced a pound of ground beef lately?

Here are some actual prices realized on some 16750s beginning in 2009 - all are matte except for one.

month/year sold - price - comments
8/09 ... $3800... glossy dial
5/13... 6200
10/13... 5600
1/14... 6600
4/14... 6900
6/14 ... 6900
9/14... 7500
11/14... 7000
11/14... 7600
11/14... 8200
4/15... 12,000... complete set
9/15... 8600
11/15... 12,500... complete set
11/15... 8300
12/15... 10,000
12/15... 12,000... complete set
4/16... 12,750

Aye, a pint of beer was 1 shilling and six pence when my dad started drinking.
