Yep. This single Daytona watch coverage has given Rolex so much free advertising. It's even more potent than the John Mayer affect.

I wonder what the owner will do with his Daytona. Anyone know what happened to the GMT from the other popular Rolex/antiques roadshow episode?

Unworn Newman 6263 shows up at Antiques Roadshow

Wow .... amazing watch and what an interesting character. He has a few tales to tell I’m sure, brave guy. Good luck to him.

Good he thought it’s too nice to go swimming with it;-)

Haven’t watched it yet, as I’m in the office, but should be a great video for the Daytona fans.

Cheers

I'd sell it right now .. get my $400K + .. strike while the iron is hot!!!

I could never wear that thing, knowing how much it's worth .. sheeiiit, I have a problem wearing some of my current watches and they are a fraction.

I agree with Paul Thorpe. This watch is NOT NOS. It seems it was worn quite a bit.

Days ago when the story broke, I had also told my friend, "Look at the clasp, there are fingerprints there." He said, "maybe it is from the appraiser".

Paul Thorpe in his video zoomed in and believes it is crude from being worn ALOT.

I have to agree with his points. This watch is not NOS. The AF guy probably pulled a fast one and isnt the novice lucky guy, liked he seemed to be and the appraiser surely didnt know his craft all that well.

See Paul's video and decide for yourself.

Clearly by the wear on the sticker it isn’t a NOS, yes it wasn’t worn much, but clearly isn’t NOS.
Doesn’t mean it isn’t possibly the best known example on the planet at the moment, till the next closet watch appears.

This was so fake. Even the wig and headband on the guy was a laugh.

Come on TRF you fell for pure entertainment, enjoy it, but don't take it so seriously!
