20 years later, the Submariner is finally mine

I have been thinking about getting a new Datesub since i was really young, and today it finally happened! Until recently, i thought i would eventually get around to it. It was never that big of a deal and i knew i could get one quickly. Then it started getting to a point where i knew it needed to get it before things got worse. I’m 34, i was 13 when i fell in love with watches. Ive owned vintage subs, 14060’s, but this was my first ever brand new AD watch and it was worth the wait.

Ive said multiple times, its just a submariner, its not a big deal. Man, was i wrong. They did an unbelievable Job with the 126610.

Couple pics of my small collection. I guess its time for a small watch roll?

It took about a month or so, but it wasn't my relationship. A good friend made a call for me and made it happen.

Exactly my thought! I remember a recent thread here where a member posted their GMT collection, all pepsi throughout the years starting with a bakelite. I think i would like to do the same thing but with the submariner. I imagine 5512 is probably as far back as i could go while being able to afford them.

Congrats! How does it wear compared to your BB58? Having recently bought a new watch roll, I recommend the brand Mirage. Great option at an affordable price.

Congrats! I have a 116610LN and a BLNR, and the 116610LN catches my eye more believe it or not than the BLNR. Enjoy the new watch!

There is a 5508 small crown sub for sale right now for $33,500 in the classifieds! You should jump on it! Ha ha Personally, I prefer the big crown subs, so the 6538 and 5510.

For me, BB58 is lighter and fits a little better. Bracelet on the sub is better and maybe more comfortable. I will check that watch roll out, thanks!

The wife would love that! Her anniversary present would need to get much larger haha.

Congrats! That's all you will ever need to be honest. The Sub Date and the BB58. And of course the vintage Seiko diver.

From the title of this thread, my first thought was that you had just made the final payment on a watch you bought 20 yrs ago. Congrats!
