Process for purchase from AD

Just curious as I have purchased several Rolexes in the last but always gray or used. I’m next in line for RG YM40 at the local AD. Is there an expectation of a formal walkthrough the watch, any pleasantries, or do you just walk in when you get the call, pay and head out the door with your new baby?

My experience was pretty good about five years ago.
Come in, pay, try it on and take links off to get the fit right. Chat a little, gives you a receipt, books, goodies (magazines) and off you go.

Ask u if u want any drinks. Examine the watch u ordered. If all good, settle the payment and then the SA will peel off the stickers in front of you or at the back office. May took away the white tag too. Pack with the box. Done. Haha

They will bring you the watch and once you have paid for it, they will have somebody use a tape to measure your wrist. After a bit you’ll receive your watch and the extra links in a little pouch. You will then be spirited to the exit where you will have to be careful not to get robbed while carrying a green bag with a gold crown on it.

Pretty simple, I walk in, get drunk, hand them my credit card and then stumble out with a green bag.

Hopefully, repeat.

Thanks guys, so pretty much what I expected. It’s on the Oyster flex so I’m not sure how much sizing will happen. Hopefully they got the correct combo of pieces for a good fit.

Then you’ll get nothing. They will size it by adjusting which bands they give you.

You might consider giving your credit card company a heads up, if you’re going to use one.

I typically demand they prop me high up on a chair and dance me around the store while a klezmer band plays and the SAs and other customers sing Hava Nagila at the top of their lungs. Once we're good and sweaty, we all put on blindfolds, grab sticks, and swing wildly at the crown-shaped Pinata until it releases a bounty of assorted rainbow daytona candies.

Besides that, it's a perfectly uneventful buying experience.

And if they ask if you want to try on a Rolex from the women’s section, cuz you know that’s cool now, politely decline!

So are you referencing this thread or is this just a common saying now? Note, I don't think you were suggesting this as a real thing to do, just wondering if we're making fun of that one kid in the other thread specifically, or the entire generation lol.

Say being robbed, one of the ADs was so thoughtful or cautious about this he used another plain white paper bag on top of the green Rolex logo bag and tried to make sure no one will notice I had bought a rolex.....

They all do this in my experience. It’s like a bag for your bag.

By the way, did anybody here tried these plastic stickers to protect their bag protectors?

Of course not! One true connaisseur only used the best in sticker protection.

(I’m joking)

Ok. I usually enjoy your jokes more than this. For the record I have never worn watch protection. I am just guilty of the TRF crime of mentioning that my watch was discontinued and also being nice to gender fluid salespeople.
