Fantasy in Italy
Thought I would share with you pics of our recent trip to Italy.
Starting in Rome, our hotel was two blocks from the Spanish Steps which were reasonably uncrowded this time of year. I expect that in a couple more weeks, there will be no way someone will be able to walk up or down the Steps due to the crowds. Then you have the roasted chestnut sellers at the bottom of the Steps One must stop off to see the Coloseum and Constantine's Arch Here is Mrs. Rockrolex ready to race the chariots at what is left of the Circus Maximus Then on to our villa in Tuscany an incomparable place An old stone building with a downstairs living room and an upstairs living room a wonderful kitchen (where the women turned out amazing meals) which were served al fresco at our outdoor dining table with a view that wouldn't quit after which we could go down to the pool for a swim to work off the meal Our travels took us to Lucca and Pisa and yes, the tower really does lean And then to San Gimingano (the town of towers) with courtyards like this and, of course, the best gelatto in the world I hated to come home from this idyllic setting.

Fantastic photos, Ed. Thanks so much for sharing. I simply MUST get to Italy sometime soon.
BTW, seeing the "Spanish Steps" reminds me of an episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond", when they visited Italy. Raymond was dead set that he WASN'T going to climb them, even though Debra wanted to. What an idiot!!! I would do ANYTHING for that woman!!!

Superb pics, Ed....glad you and Arleen had such a wonderful time. Zemina and I had been to Rome way back in March 1976. Those pics do bring back fond memories.
Thanks - JJ

Man, oh, man, just gorgeous Ed! Reminds me of our Portuguese holidays. We’ve only been to Venice but love to go to other parts of Italy. In less then two weeks our trip to Indonesia starts. I promise to have lots of pictures to show!
Take care, Frans.

Dang, Ed!! It looks like you had a great vacation. I've always wondered what the Villa vacations in Tuscany looked like. Very nice!

Peasant! Don’t they teach you anything on those ‘high schools’, ‘colleges’ or whatever?
P.S. Was my response satisfactory?

It would be in Holland, as it's mainly below sea level.
