1979 Subs and Seadwellers

Hi all,

I'm in the hunt for a 1979 Sub or Seadweller. I believe these are the references I'm looking for:
-1665
-1680
-5513

I think for the 5513, I should be looking for a serial in the late 5mil-6mil. Would this apply to the other references as well?

Complete newb to vintage, so if anyone has any tips, things to avoid, or leads, please feel free to post or PM. Thanks! :)

Yes, a 79, although not definitive, will be in that range. Closer to 5.5 to 5.9 if you're anal......lol.

If you are looking for a 1979 model you should check out H.Q.Milton's website he has several nice examples. You can just type in 1979 in the search field. I have bought from him in the past and he has a top notch service.

Looking at the chart on Oysterworld (source VRF and the German Rolex Forum) 1979 has been substantiated at 5,9-6,1 (and based on the last 1978 and the earliest 1980 it might go as far back as 5,7 and all the way into 6,4).

But on the other hand there's the sometimes confusing "serial numbers project" :)
