Who would have thought the 5167 is now or starting to be double the retail price....

If a 5711 can sell double the retail price so do the 5167 too...

I didn't know until Tim Mosso mention on his latest video that on the secondary market for the 5167 is starting to trade at $40,000.....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGdRVdrldiU

Click above on his youtube video & start at 32.00 regarding about the 5167 price....^^^....

I check the secondary market overseas in Asian country the 5167 are selling over $40,000 for preowned & over $50,000 for NIB....

WoW... Just WoW....!!!

Yep

I bought one new only 4 years ago for $18.3k and then used prices were in the $16s, I let it go last year when prices where starting to rise.\\

Made some money of course, but man I wish I knew where this was going.

Those were the days!

Yep. I remember when I got my 5711 some years ago, people didn't want the aqua because it was the cheapest entry level sports PP.. Still remember one in Singapore offered to me at $15K. 5711s at 23-24 all day..
How times have changed.

5164A is heading in the same direction as well, averaging 50K used as of this moment.

I purchased mine back in 2015, double sealed, list minus double digit discount. It was really that unpopular back then but I loved it (and still do)

After being in Japan and seeing the sheer number of entry level steel rolexes I will agree with the Ninja here. Not a single Steel AP or Nautilus or modern Aquanaut sighted yet.

We all want what we can’t have

When I bought my 5167 three years ago, 10% off from an AD seemed to be the going rate and you could get one within a month or two. I'm still not convinced that these watches are really trading for anywhere near the asking prices. I'm curious to know if anyone has recently sold a NIB 5167 or 5711 to one of the larger grey dealers. I would think that would give you a pretty good idea of the actual prices end-users are paying right now.

Stainless Royal Oak and ROC's seem to running 10-20% over MSRP right now, and I have a feeling those are going to be the next pieces to really spike to some silly numbers.

I find this really hard to believe considering there are tons available in the low to mid $30K range. Dealers have an agenda to uphold. Let's not perpetuate the lunacy here.

Since the nautilus has gone up this far it is only natural progression that the aquanaut has too.

I remember my 5164R had a 15K premium to it. We are looking at 20-25K now and it's only been 3 months since I bought it.

15400 (& now 15500) & 15202 has been running on Premium for 2 years...Only recently the premium has been noticeable.

Even in 2017 5164A was readily available with a double digit discount.

Same movement as 5711 which is a simple steel watch yet going for crazy monry. So why not the aqua? Haha

In 2018 I was offered a 5164a immediately as an alternative to waiting for a 5167a. Guess who said no thanks?

5164a seemed to have skyrocketed overnight. Got one for my buddy a year ago for mid $30s and saw them creep up to low $40s. Was texting last night with him and looks to be high $50s now and saw a NIB asking $70k...WTF?

5 years ago the 15400 could be had for under $11k now going for double that.

5164 was too much for me, as a premium over the 67, at a deeply discounted £20K, now it's over £50K.

It is the natural evolution and frankly surprising the 5167 took so long to take off. I like it better than the 5711. Production is apparently decreasing on these as well so the used price will continue to climb.

Yeah, that what I thought.....^^^.....

Unfortunately the watch game has change......

Low to mid $30K range for the preowned 5167 is the whole sale price that the gray are buying..... I check the secondary market overseas in Asian country......

Overseas in Asian country, it seem to be in high demand and there a shortage.....

I check here in the TRF forum, none of our well known trusted dealer here in the USA have one for sale.....

I hate to say this but if someone were to buy it at a low to mid $30K range, hurry up and buy it because it will be hitting the $40K plus mark real soon......

Regarding the 5164 is going for crazy money too.....

Me think this is the new norm that the every Aquanaut and Nautilus regardless which models you pick, will be selling or try to sell at a double the retail price on the secondary market.....

Don't start looking at the 5968 prices then, as they are more than double also

I will take your advice & won't look into it.......

But I will look into the green 5168 since a lot of people say it ugly and that they won't buy it.......

Hopefully I will get a 15% discount at my AD.......

With Nautilus prices where they are, I'm not surprised at all by 5167 pricing. Same movement as the 5711 at a fraction of the price. If you want a sporty current model Patek, this is the cheapest option. Watchbox just sold a used 5167 for $40k after being listed for one day.

I suspect the 5164 will be the next big mover.

Agree, they aren't trading at $40k, just like 5712's aren't trading at $110k. Chrono24 is not real life.
