Hello all..I was gifted a Tank Francaise and was considering switching the bracelet to a strap but was told that you can’t..any help? I know there’s a screw that holds the spring bars..tried to unscrew it didn’t move..stopped..didn’t want to strip the screw. Thanks.

I love them and wear it regularly. Cartier has a very unique NDA you can spot one easily miles away and there are not many like them.

some links to fuel interest/obsession in the watch.

Still strongly considering the 1840 18K . Been thinking about it for atleast 6 months now . Love the Louis Cartier but the leather strap will definetly not get as much wear time as the gold bracelet the Francaise sports . Only thing holding me back is the resale value :(

If men can wear aquanaut then I don’t see any issue with tank.

Looks amazing. Is that the small, or large, version?

These are very elegant watches that I think requires an elegant person to pull off. I am not elegant. But I enjoy seeing them on people who can pull them off.

Just bought myself a Tank Solo , can’t wait to wear it . It’s my birthday present from me to me, I’ll unwrap it next week. Chose the Quartz version, we’ll see how I like it. I own many Rolex but I was looking for something different yet classic. The Tank ticked the box!

The tank is a classic dress watch. I personally think the francaise is the best looking dress watch - unfortunately I didn’t think it would get enough wear on my wrist so I settled for a Santos 100.

What do you think about the gold tank francaise with a leather strap?

Does that work?

A good friend of mine has a yellow gold Tank Francaise on a leather strap. He likes it a lot, but regrets that he didn't get a Tank Louis Cartier, as it is a more classic design and has a higher quality movement. Still he has had his TF for over a decade and likes it a lot.

I have pink gold Tank Louis Cartier XL from their discontinued "Collection Privee Cartier Paris" line of watches. Its one of my all time favorite watches. It looks great with a suit, and it also still works well with a nice shirt and jeans. The simplicity of the case shape makes it so easy to dress up or dress down. The guilloche work on the dial is beautiful and Roman numerals look perfect on this watch. I also like the secret signature "Cartier" in the V of the Roman numeral VII.

A few photos of mine...

Very beautiful watches.

How much would you pay for a large golden TF with leather strap? Condition good/mint, serviced last year, original box and papers. Bought 1999.

I would like to have golden bracelett but not enough dough for that. :D

No, but seriously - wear what you want.

That looks great! It wouldn’t have the quick release spring bars though? So it has traditional shouldered spring bars installed the old fashioned way?

That is correct! Has the old fashioned spring bars - minor inconvenience, IMO.

It's the tank solo XL. My wrist is tiny - 6.25-6.5inches
