Incoming Urban Jürgensen BIG8 RG

Achieved two life goals last month, so I had some celebrating to do, this time in red gold. Very happy with it, though I do plan on changing to a black or oxblood strap.

In case anyone is interested, more info about the watch and the manufacturing process can be found here:

Thanks everyone. I'm so in love with UJ as a whole. The BIG8 is just a perfect watch to me. I find them so much more interesting than the modern offerings of Patek and Vacheron. If I wouldn't get a UJ I would probably be looking at Lange or some independent, but UJ ticks all the boxes for me.

I had asked to get one of their NOS vintage boxes instead of their modern one. I think the old ones have a lot of charm. They were handmade by a Danish cabinetmaker in the 1980's with rosewood and lined with super soft goatskin leather. I've also bought a folding clasp and a new strap, both of which should arrive next week.

Traded in the standard buckle and got a matching rose gold folding clasp and a beautiful NOS strap. Very happy with this.

The outer and inner boxes look very nice and seem to be very high quality pieces, just like the watch. A deployant is always nice to have too.

NOS strap turned out to be a little too O and started to crack. Got a replacement NOS strap in medium brown alligator. Still incredibly happy every time I look at this watch. Definitely made the right decision.

Love this color.
