Love it. A vintage specialist can probably clean it up.

If you are in Germany perhaps try asking on R-L-X forum.
There is a specialist in restoring President bracelets in Winterberg. (Goldschmiede beste)
Top notch, no idea how they are with refinishing a case but one bracelets there is no better.

If it was mine, I would not touch it. It's an honest looking watch and vintage enough that it may be better to leave it alone.

If you use it regularly It will end up looking the same eventually, and each time you polish/refinish (even if done so correctly) you are loosing some material.

Remember that gold is considered a soft metal and it scratches very easily.

But, hey it's your watch and you should proceed with what will give you happiness. The most important thing is that you wear the piece in good health!

Very nice watch. I would take it to a very high quality jeweler along with a photo of one in its original condition.

I’d assume it would have to be “re-brushed” to recreate the original finish. I don’t know whether it would also have to be polished before the brushing.

It’s not a job I would trust to just anyone, as the coarseness of the brushing is important. I’ve seen some which were brushed with too coarse of a Scotchbrite (or whatever they use), and it’s … not a result you want.

Lovely watch! I declined a nice WG one back in ~2019, and I still regret it.
