A Rolex Datejust 1503 on President bracelet?
Dear Rolexlovers,
i have seen a vintage Rolex Date 1503 on chrono24: https://www.chrono24.nl/rolex/oyster...id15271898.htm With a president bracelet (apparently bought separately. Is it correct? How can a 34 mm watch be executed with a president bracelet? Hope to hear from anyone who has an answer! Have a nice day! |

Back in the day you could choose. Even a Submariner on Jubilee not a problem

You could choose some things that were interchangeable, like an Oyster vs. Jubilee vs. leather strap. However, the Date model has a 19 mm lug width, while the President bracelet end links are 20 mm so wouldn't fit this watch. Don't know what's happened here.

The shape of the case is different from that of a President case and you can see the gaps in front of the end links. They most likely shaved 1mm off of each side of the end links to make it fit. You can see how the last link is wider than the inside of the lugs.

Matt is totally right. You can see that some surgery was done on those end links when compared to the last bracelet link Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't read German that well but isn't one of those receipts for the bracelet? I agree with our tannin soaked friend, some watchmaker shaved .5mm off each side for a fit.

A Rolex Datejust 1503 on President bracelet?
The endlinks were also ground too much when trying to fit the 34mm case diameter.
