Stamp on case back Rolex 1675 YG?
This is the case back of a 1675 YG from 1968. I have never seen such stamps on other 1675. I read somewhere those stamps were from dealers when they put the watch on a bracelet. Perhaps some vintage experts here help enlighten?

It is a French import hallmark. I have owned several other YG models with this type of hallmark. Rarely seen.

This is the French Custom Import Duty Stamp.
It Means that the watch has been exported to France. Rolex probably sent this one to a French Dealer as first.

Thank you. Interesting. I wonder how the French Custom office stamped these watches. Did they need to open the case back in order to stamp it.

I have been told, that the watches were leaving Rolex already stamped, Geneva is half French and not a rare thing that custom agent operate inside Switzerland. They always been very anal controlling that nothing enter France without paying duties. Same was for Rolex and the Swiss, in this way nobody could export a pieces to France avoiding the Swiss VAT and then sell it as new in Switzerland at a price lower than the retail one.
