Thank you! It’s worth it IMO, and I didn’t think that when I first looked at it online. I talked myself out of it quite a few times.

Thank you. I’ve always enjoyed the oysterflex. Takes a minute to get used to the way it sits on your wrist with the fins on the underside, but very comfortable.

I do wish I could get just a generic Everest or Rubber B for everyday use...with a tang buckle. I would go through that rubber pretty quickly.

Thanks guys! I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would. I gave myself many excuses not to get it for a while. It’s just a great fit for me, that I knew was right, when I got to see it live.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you go down to Buckhead at the Gray link I sent you earlier and buy it?

Saw in Atlanta, but didn’t buy. I had deal lined up with one of the trusted sellers I use. I just needed to see it.

Congrats on a great pick up!

I paid absolutely no attention to this watch for years until I just happened to see it in a window on 47th St and on a whim decided to try it on. As soon as it was on my wrist I was a goner. I then went to my AD and made a request. It arrived only a few weeks later. I’ve had it for a few weeks and all I can say is it’s an awesome watch for summer casual, fun wear, but it can also be worn in any setting. And it’s stealthy enough to not be noticed by non-WIS. I think the matte bezel, white metal and OF bracelet help to make this watch invisible to most folks, which is the perfect watch for me. I don’t like my watches drawing attention. I wear them for my own enjoyment. Also because it would be just my luck that a flashy watch would draw the wrong kind of attention.

And just like Richard said, I never thought I’d own a Yacht-Master. Now I just need a yacht!

I’ve liked the WG / YG oysterflex daytonas I’ve owned, but this fits just a bit better all around.

-Like the size better (been wearing 42mm + lately)
-love the color/texture change up of the bezel, vs the other shiny ceramic bezels.
-really like the dial/bezel combo that contrasts no nicely against the WG case, then back to the matching OF bracelet
-my favorite complication to have…the date

Has been described as looking sinister , I agree.

Also…has been described as a for sure FU watch.
Well in normal thinking of an FU watch, I’d think immediately of YG Sub, Skydweller, etc….
But the other side described as an FU watch is…wearing a $25K + watch, that can be mistaken (and most like will be) for a $100 dive watch on rubber band, because you like it.
That definition makes sense to me as well.
I’ve always said it….WG or PT is for the enjoyment, pride of ownership, of the wearer.
Have a good upcoming weekend all !

Thank you. I’ve had a few incoming lately, but I’ve been sticking to one in, one out. So my collection is moving towards getting out of the 40mm “hot/hyped” watches , and into 42-44mm watches that aren’t quite as hyped models, but fit my lifestyle better. Things I like, vs what’s the most popular.

Congratulations, a stunning piece and looks fantastic on your wrist.
I love the YM 40 and have a blue dial, but that white gold is really something special.
Enjoy it and take care of it.

Still have one of those, along with a couple others, that will be heading off to a new home fairly shortly I’m thinking. Will see if they garnish any interest over the next month or so, if not, I’ll move them on. They’re in the…out of sight, out of mind location right now. :)
As someone said to me a few days ago…..just turn down the noise and get what you truly like, and fits you best. Well said….and I was basically following this advice anyway over the last couple months. As it turns out, I don’t have any truly hyped watches in rotation right now.

Love your analysis of FU watches, my brother.

You are so spot on, in a way all the "I would never pay that kind of money for a watch on a rubber band" crowd will never understand.

These days, I find myself reaching for my YM, (the RG version) much more than any of my PM pieces. It's so darn comfortable, feels every bit as "special" of a watch, yet doesn't scream "look at me," the way a full 18k bracelet does.

Oh yeah, when you get up close to it and look at all the little details, it's just one delicious feature after another, but you are correct...to the average person at a normal distance, it's just another black watch on a rubber bracelet.

Huge congrats on this one, Richard. It's a home run, for sure.

Awesome piece, knew you were a goner once you started the other thread. I was the same way about the rg OF until I saw one in person, then it just made sense. The mini GL versus Daytona OF is a huge plus. Enjoy. As for the fleet, top two right for me! Awesome.

Been wearing the YM42 for more than a year. Possibly the best looking watch in the current ‘sports’. Category.I feel Rolex have created a real ‘sleeper’ with this model.
