This is what the sun does!

My dad & I got the same watch in 2009, he just gave me his but he went to the beach in Florida everyday! I did not.

Interesting. I think the sun-bleached one is very cool.

Wow, thanks for sharing. That is the first of the modern dials that I have seen with fading like that.

Do you guys think I should have Rolex change the dial, polish it and service it? Or leave it alone? It keeps times perfectly.

Does that make it a tropical dial?

wow your dad must have one heck of a tan. Didn't think that much fade could occur on a modern piece in such a short span, he must have literally lived in the sun.

He gave it to you as in to keep? So you have 2 of the same watch? definitely don't change the dial then or you will have 2 identical watches, even with just one I would definitely keep as is.

My vote would be to leave as is. Tells quite a story about your dad and one that you'll always have as a reminder with that dial.

That’s awesome. I’ve seen one other Milgauss with a black dial that did this. There is no way I would change that awesome dial.

That's awesome! Definitely keep as is.

I've often thought about what the GV would look like with a tropical dial...guess I'll have to spend a bit more time in the sun
