Should I return it I’ve got 30days to return it bought it for £2200. I was quite happy when I bought it but reading other discussions this is WAY over polished

If you can return, I definitely would as it is over polished and the right top spring-bar is sticking out.

It looks like a good reference but just not that specific one.

Shiny edges that didn’t previously exist there I see.

With the spring bar sticking out on the upper right, I would say it is overpolished as well. If you can return, that is what I would do. Good luck.

I’ll be returning it as soon as it comes. I’ll take my own pictures of it just to double check with everyone. I’m really disappointed because I’ve wanted to get a Oysterquartz for a while and I felt like I found the right one!

I bought a brand new one, same as yours last month for CAD7200 including tax.

2200 English Pound is about 3300 CAD. You decide yourself what to buy; new or pre owned.

Wow you bought a brand new Oysterquartz What year is it? I wouldn’t mind a ore owned one but I’ll it to be in good condition especially the oysterquartz because it has those razor shape edges

I am not sure I agree with all the above. The case of the OysterQuartz resembles the AP RO so the existence of bevels (shiny sides along the lugs and case side) is from factory and in fact, polishing makes them less and less pronounced. Also, if you look at those top and bottom steps of the case (that resemble the VC overseas), they still look quite sharp and this is exactly the first thing that softens with polishing.

Here is a photo of an unpolished one. Compare and make up your own mind. In my opinion, yours is polished but certainly not "grinded down" or whatever.

Yours has round angles and sides on the watch look at the one above everything has straight angles ie no curves even a 1 mm side to the left and right of the bezel yours does not. Yours looks to be polished... but..
You did get at a good price and the dial looks good.. the pin may be the wrong size or the spring gone so pertaining

It's cost you less than a cheap Tudor ...
And it's a nice watch

I would wear that happily and not feel seen off
It's a very nice watch for the money and will wear well
Box and papers then it's a given

Again pictures may be bad..but on forum starting with your question everyone will say yes
If your happy keep ..it's a nice watch to wear and the white dilema is superb...it's a Rolex

Be reaaaally careful of taking advice off of the Internet, especially when you have such low quality photos.

You only need to make one person happy: you.

Now, if you bought it to resell, then it may be more important. Otherwise, just enjoy it!

With the spring bar sticking out like that, and comparing it to an unpolished piece, your watch has clearly been worked on with heavy industrial machinery. It just looks sad. I would return it for a full refund. I believe that the only way to salvage that watch is with a new case from Rolex.

I would be annoyed every time I looked at that and there is no way I could wear it happily.

After the last few comments I’m feeling a little bit better! I will definitely take my own pictures and send it on here as soon as it arrives. The watch above is beautiful mine looks round compare to that but as you guys said it may be low quality pictures. I’ll just have to sit and wait for my delivery !!

Are you being 100% honest here? How could you wear something that has obviously been ruined, and be reminded of the fact every time you look at it? How could that possibly make you happy? Box and papers are not going to bring this back from the dead, so I don't see what they have got to do with anything.

If you're trying to add a Oysterquartz to your collection, I would only pursue those full set pieces that have had no service but a battery change. If your just interested in a daily wear OQ it doesn't look too bad to me. But I never was a big fan even when they were introduced.

The answers in this thread show the power of a hive mind....

I mean...

Yeah, it's so polished I would hardly even recognize that as a wrist watch, never mind a Rolex.

I hope "your polishing job is so bad" become the new "yo mama" jokes.

Your polishing job is so bad it looks like someone thew it in a dryer full of gravel and ran it for 4 hours on high.

Your polishing job is so bad is looks like someone used a sidewalk for a polishing stone.

Your polishing job is so bad it looks like someone rubbed these comments all over your watch.

As ONE person mentioned, if it doesn't both you, who cares. It really is not as bad as some will tell you. Wear it, enjoy it, scratch it up yourself.

Live life. Wear your Rolex out of the house once in a while.*

*So long as you wear long sleeves and cover your arm in bubble wrap on a rain free day.

Yes ...you buy a watch you like.. the photos are not the greatest the price is 60% what a mint watch would cost.
The dial looks to be in a good condition..
The watch may be better to the eye than it looks in the photos ( my CHNR looks rubbish in a photo) if it looks good on the wrist and it has its box and papers then it's a good buy ..
It's a Rolex at the price of a Tudor and I know which I would rather have... a bit of polishing is not always a bad thing.. to a collector it could be ..but to a wearer it isn't always..

Watches are meant to be worn and not collected.. if a watch shows some wear it means its been enjoyed...

Let's enjoy our watches and not make them into safe queens...history says enjoy ...
as your along time Dead and when your dead you can't wear your watch and you have all the time in the world..

It's the collecting of Rolex and selling at a profit that's killing the lovers of Rolex

This is why I don't compromise on what I wear, the short time I am alive. The OP should not have to make any compromises given the amount of money he is spending. He should be 100% happy.

Well the Oysterquartz is know for the crisp sharp edges. The one on the picture is clearly rounded and with the springbar nearly protruding the lug.

I would definitely return, however will be interesting to see the difference (if any) based on new and better pictures.

I bought my DJ in Jun 2019. I believe it was 2018 model, but brand new, from an Rolex AD, with box and papers. White dial, roman index, ss.

A tad dramatic?
How could he possibly be happy, you ask? It’s a used watch and the price reflects the condition. Relax

Hard to tell with these pics. The protruding spring bars are a concern, but the bars could be bad. Really will not know until you have it in your hands. I have seen many a post here where everyone said a watch was over polished **** then we get better photos and it looks totally different.
