Sea Dweller Incoming

Managed to snag this 2005 Sea Dweller unpolished with box and papers for around what they were going for in early 2016. Been wearing it since Monday and it's been such an easy, worry-free daily wearer. Welcome change from the precious Aquanaut.
Deals can still be had in this crazy market and this has to be one of the most undervalued/best value references at this time. It's a tool watch through and through and the 40 mm case has great proportions and lines. I wore a BLNR almost daily for four years until late last year and much prefer the 5 digit case. Due to its weight it has the same wrist presence as the maxi case watches but, in my opinion, in a more attractive package.
It's also the first Rolex I've owned where the crown actually lines up perfectly.
Get one while you can! Highly recommend it. Mine is going diving with great whites in Guadalupe Island late summer.
Here are some pictures for your enjoyment:

Nice pickup. I was able to grab one for $5k last year. Not as nice as yours but couldn't pass it up.

It's a great watch and probably the best value Rolex out there right now.

A gorgeous watch. Sad to have sold mine but happy that it has been replaced by a SD43

Congrats! Sold mine 10 years ago and that is the biggest regret I have ever had selling a watch. I agree, one of the best bargains out there currently in this insane market.

Get a new glidelock for it and it's the best watch to truly beat the crap out of.

Wow do those fit the older bracelets? Genuinely curious. Yet, would a Rolex boutique be willing/able to order that part?
Would be amazing to put this on an OF with glidelock clasp

Enjoy it man! I got rid of a 114060 to buy my 16600. Love the curvy 5 digit case vs more square maxi. Its my daily and not going anywhere

No idea either! Anybody looking for a slick 5 digit case with the same wrist presence as a modern sub/gmt should take a closer look at a 16600.

Yes! I'm obsessed with the lines of the mid case. It tapers toward the HE valve but the lugs actually thicken and curve as you move along the case. Lots of little details on this one.
