Non-Rolex watches

Just wondering outside of the Rolex/Tudor family what other watches are people into ? Not including the holy trinity /omega / Seiko/Apple. Are there any other watches people enjoy in the 3-5k budget area?

Any love for Breitling / IWC / Grand Seiko / Panerai / Zenith?

Get a nicely discounted Girard Perregaux - you won’t be disappointed

A couple top of mind that would fit the 5k budget would include:

- Omega Seamaster 300m
- Grand Seiko (various)

I’ve been smitten with Grand Seiko lately. This 9F quartz has been fantastic.

Maybe not in the $5k budget but I’ve always had a soft spot for the Tag Heuer Monaco (caliber 11) and I LOVE the new Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control range with the tan colour straps!

I'm a fan of Panerai, Omega, JLC, Grand Seiko.

Have plans to add one or more from each brand this next year.

I mean it's a little more than 5k but I'm currently obsessed with this watch

Just make sure you really love the watch because none of those brands hold value like Rolex. I just flipped an IWC and Panerai - lost at least 40% and they were mint.

I'm happy to free up the cash to go towards a Day Date though.

Or just buy used at a good price and either make money on it or lose next to nothing.

I love my JLC master control and have always wanted a reverso. In the preowned range I would go for IWC, Zenith, or maybe Panerai.

Great stuff. Ball is cool too.

I have vintage IWC and JLC and Gread Seiko

Modern Breitling, Panerai, Omega and Oris.

Panerai 000 for sure, and 232 for about 5k maybe just a bit more.

Holy trinity??? I don't think so.

Either way, I have a Breitling, Panerai, Cartier, and of course a few Omegas. I enjoy them all.

Yes! I’ve wanted a Searambler for years. Hoping to pull the trigger on a 1500T soon. Also like Sinn, Stowa and UTS.

Otherwise, have a Breitling and love it, couple Tag Heuers, a Baume & Mercier and a bunch of boutique divers, Seiko and Citizen.

Still want a few more Rolex, but also thinking Panerai, Omega and IWC.

One of these two TAGs will likely be my next non-Rolex purchase.

Close to the $5k ceiling is the IWC Portofino line. I've had more compliments and questions on that watch than any other, Rolex included.

I recently tried on the Potofino moonphase and it was gorgeous. I came very close to pulling the trigger.
