Hi Im new to this site so please bear with me, I have been a fan of rolex for as long as I can remember and my first rolex purchased was back in 2011 whereby I purchased a brand new submariner which has never let me down or disappointed in any way.
However I have just purchased a vintage Rolex 6694 from the watch exchange manchester, but have a few questions, the serial number is 616753 which I have been informed this is a 1979 watch but I could not reference this anywhere. I did speak to Rolex (kent) but they said there database started from 1980 with recording the details of the watch and this number is not recognized. The watch does not have an original strap or buckle, so if anyone can point me in the direction where to get one I would appreciated it. Rolex did say they can supply a leather strap and buckle but at the tune of £190. I have seen may on sale on ebay but when I have asked the question are these genuine rolex product they run a mile which is such a shame that people sell counterfeit products. Thinking of a brown or tan strap or just stay with a black one? Feedback most appreciated, |

Based on serial number and alpha hands I'd guess it's a 60/61. Appears to be redialed, and I think you could get a buckle and strap cheaper on eBay, unless the "rolex" text is raised then it's probably authentic and the pics just make it look like rolex is printed on poorly

You need to supply a clear photo, in focus.

Welcome aboard. Help us out with clear photos and we'll help you. Andromeda160: no way to tell if it's a redial with these photos, many Rolex dials have applied "ROLEX" logos from this era
