Wee rant

Went looking for possibly a Moonwatch. Walked into AD and salesman said “these are the women’s models”. I gave him an out & said I think all watches are unisex now. Went over to the Moonwatch’s & he went over to another case & said here are a couple of Speedy’s that fit women & have a nice diamond bezel…….

Shocker did not buy anything yesterday.

Ok my little rant is over.

WOW what a sexist jerk salesperson!

There is no excuse to treat someone in that manner.

Find another AD. That sales person does not deserve a commission from anyone.

Sorry you had that unpleasant experience, Monica. Certainly sounds as if another AD would be more deserving of your money.

I'm confident you'll find one and get the proper experience and treatment you deserve.

I am still trying to figure out what happened? AD showed girly watches to a woman just coz she is?

I guess if I went panty shopping, rep would think they are for someone else or pretend they are unisex items?

You're in Cali, lots of good options elsewhere. Moonwatch is great choice. If you need an excellent AD recommendation in SoCal, send me a PM.

Lucky you don't live here in the south... he might have called you "little lady" and asked if your husband had given you permission to spend that much.

LOL

Sorry for the bad experience, but to play devils advocate, did you tell him you wanted a moon watch at all?

It’s just him. Find another AD. In my local Omega boutique one of the sales ladies wears a Speedy Moonwatch hesalite on the black alligator. We got to talking about how we prefer the OEM alligator straps as I was wearing mine on my Speedy when I stopped by. Looked great on her btw.

I'm wondering this as well. If she didn't say from the start she wanted the moonwatch then it makes sense he guides her to the women watches.

Not every watch is unisex.

Was it a boutique or a "dealer".

Because my Omega Boutique is 100x more respectful than the "omega dealer" who is an AD but not corporate.

One i enjoy shopping at, the other i browse.

Wow didn't know this forum was so politically correct. Sorry you had a bad experience, but I agree there are mens and ladies models. Doesn't mean a woman can't wear a mans watch. More power to you. I would definitely only give your business to someone you feel treats you the way you like though. Post pics when you get your watch, love when women wear mens models, looks very cool

Monica, Whilst I'm sure you will find a professional who will deal with you correctly I'm a little concerned that this is just how condescending and arrogant these AD's are getting. Increasingly they act like they are doing us a favour taking our hard earned cash to supply us with a piece of kit they couldn't afford themselves without a discount and/or monthly payments.

You just showed your true colours making such a statement. Don't be condescending either.

Its true nevertheless. Read Luke Combs experience at an AD in NY when he was appearing at Maddison Square Garden.

This is unfortunate how a lot of AD operate. My wife has had similar experiences. She had an Sales person try and get her to woman’s Jewerly when we were looking to get her grand seiko. I stepped in and told the guy she know what she wants! Needless to say we went down the street and found her grand seiko. Sorry to here it was that bad find a great AD and stick with them. Best of luck.
