Red Sub at Timepiece Gentleman

Timepiece Gentleman is offering a Red Sub with what is obviously an incorrect dial. Red Sub dial variations are “vintage Rolex 101.” Marco should take a second look at this and proper disclosure should be made. I suspect it’s a white 1680 dial with the “Submariner” lettering colored red.

For those who are interested, just look at the feet first variations and compare the “ft” in the authentic dials to the one TPG is selling.

Listing details says aftermarket dial. I guess they justify calling it a red by using quotations around same and/or it’s apparently within serial range for red dial?

Oh yeah, and it’s in “excellent” condition also.

Thanks for pointing that out. When I looked at this offering other day I didn’t see that so I am glad to see that TPG has made that disclosure that the dial is not authentic.

Still, kind of a weird watch to be selling if you want to also sell authentic high end vintage Rolex along side it. I’d just as soon swap the fake dial out for an authentic 1680 dial and then sell it.

I didn’t see what the uproar was about. It was obvious to anyone doing business with them that it was a PR stunt.

They never stopped taking calls from clients. Just shut off social and let it run wild.

If people got their feelings hurt for being in the dark, maybe they should have given them some business.

If they are not clients than their “feelings” are irrelevant as far as I’m concerned. I’m just mad they apologized.
