Unexpected Incominggggggggg

Well, I’ve had my wallet loaded since the spring for a new Rolex that I’ve been on the list for since 2019. Waiting, sporadically inquiring with the AD to keep being a squeaky wheel, waiting…….

I had tried the 3961 Speedy on before and I loved it. But I wasn’t ready to pull the trigger at the time.

Well impatience finally got the best of me. I decided that if I could get it at the right price, then I would buy it and experience my first Speedmaster. If I loved it, great. If not, for the price I had in mind I would be clean getting out of it.

So I headed up to a smaller store that happened to be an Omega AD. Tried it on and offered -20% to take it home. They took the offer and sized and boxed it up within just a few minutes (I was in a hurry actually).

Although it wasn’t a luxury experience per se, with champagne or much to do at all really, it was very fulfilling. To go in, see a product readily available, make a reasonable offer, and get a deal done as easily as I did was pure joy.

And the watch, we’ll that’s pretty great too.

Still have a nice chunk of change to work with in my wallet, and a nice new piece on my wrist for the time being. Maybe longer!

Plus, it’s Speedy Tuesday!

Very excited. Thanks for looking.

Good decision and nice discount. I never tire of my Speedmaster Pro, along with the Sub its the classic of all time imo.
Who knows when you will get a call about the Rolex. There are lots of us in that boat.

Congratulations. My 3861 gets a lot wrist time. The Speedmasters are strap monsters also. Look at some NATO's and leather straps and expand the fun.

Thanks all! Looking forward to getting crazy with some straps, although I always gravitate back towards the bracelet on any given watch.

Thanks!

The bracelet is probably my favorite part. Could us a slight bump in the adjustability and comfort department (splitting hairs here), but I love the look of it.

The new bracelet is the sole thing that changed me from “definitely no” on the old Speedy, to “definitely yes” now.

Congrats! That is a great deal, I would probably walk out with one if my local AD was so nice to entertain offers like that ;)
