UncleSeiko 1479 review -- brings a 3861 look to the 1861 Speedy!

Yet another fan! Just picked up the Uncle Seiko 1479 for my 311.30.42.30.01.005 (1861 Hesalite) Speedy -- this bracelet brings really nice quality and design. Solid milled end links look and fit great. Matched with an old-skool tuna can style clasp. I like it!

From the Uncle himself: "If you like the look of the new 3861 Speedmaster bracelet but don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars to obtain it, this might scratch that itch."

I really like the steep taper of Uncle's bracelet on the Speedy. That, plus the female end links and the smaller, almost jubilee-length individual links, make it drape and wear really comfortably. And it looks very 3861-like. The old-fashioned clasp works really well, and is lightweight & simple. That said, it would be cool if good old Uncle came out with a milled clasp like on the 3861 Speedy, with a modern and slick pushbutton release -- and maybe even a slidey quick adjuster.

But overall, for $129, I give it a solid "A" for quality, fit, looks, execution, and value.

Good looking combo.
The clasp is the achilles tendon for Uncle Seiko bracelets, I have the US1450 president from US, great bracelet but clasp is not on par.

Thanks for sharing

Agreed. If he made a nice milled clasp with decent on the fly adjustment, I’d be tempted to buy one for every watch of mine that doesn’t have something similar
