TBH, I've contemplated selling, though. No knocks on the watch-it's a spectacular piece. My dilemma is that my collection has just grown to the point it's unwieldy, and I'm just not sure I want more than one Daytona (the WG OF is not going anywhere), as I'm not really a chrono guy at heart.

So...anyway, that's where I'm at, for now.

For me the chrono is what's in my minds eye as the perfect watch. But each to their own!!!

OK for now the current count is seven!!! That's a pretty good count!!! We're close to 50% of the poll reported total!!! Better that last time.

For me, right now, I’m preferring a bit simpler dials, & some larger pieces. I’m sure my interest will probably come back around to a daytona at some point, as I’m still a fan!
You've got to follow your own path; you've got plenty of beauties!!!

One more contact back channel so that makes eight plus I know of two more but I'll let them report prior to counting them. It's not surprising that there are ten on the forum as we're a bunch of Rolex nerds!!!

I owned the Platona for a few years but ultimately sold it. It was a beautiful piece, but the weight was just too much to wear on a regular basis, and to be honest....I wasn’t in love with it afterall. Plus, it was just so hard to read with my aging eyes.

Wait, how did we go from 18 in the poll down to 7?

You should have made the poll public so you can see the usernames of those who voted. If the purpose was to know who owns one, that would have done it, no?

It would also be interesting to know the split on standard versus baguette dial. And, maybe a third option in case someone has a TBR or something exotic.

"Owned it and sold it" would have been a good option to see as well.

Did you take the time to read the first post? Try not asking questions which were explained at the get go.

Tried one a couple years ago at the AD. Loved the weight, very cool. At that time I was in denial of needing readers so I found the dial difficult to read....

Fast forward to now, I couldn't type this reply without my readers....So, I am actually working on putting a Daytona back in the collection. Waiting for my turn on a steel model.

Sorry if I came down heavy but I thought that the answer was obvious to your questions and was both stated in the earlier post as well as the clear statement of the issues with the prior poll.

Have a great Sunday!!

No worries. I was mostly curious since I wasn't clear if members who I know are owners (Larry, Tyler, Dr. Tom, etc.) were being counted or not since the count seems to be the end goal.

Enjoy your Sunday as well!

Dr. Tom isn't being counted as he hasn't been on the site for over a year. Pretty much limited to active members. I didn't no that Larry owned one either. In prior polls there seem to be an abnormally high count of owners. I suspect mainly from people who don't give a crap. Hence the screening in this poll.

This watch seem to be a Rolex collection killer for many. I mean it kills interest for other pieces as nothing compares.

I guess that's why it considered an exit watch. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion. It's just a really wonderful watch!!!

In my humble opinion this is the most underated daytona yet the most beautiful daytona modern ever made

Just a comment on the statistics these polls collect; notice the number of professed owners versus those who were actually able to post photos of their watches show a significant difference.

I’m not interested in what any Daytona is made of.
I made the mistake of owning a gold one once but it’s just way too small, they are feminine watches and more suited to a ladies wrist in my opinion
