I’ve had both BLNR’s, oyster and Jubilee.
When I had the Oyster, I liked it better. Then I sold it and recently got the Jubilee which I now like better. (It IS more comfortable but I don’t think that is up for debate.) I feel like most of these responses are just people convincing themselves that the one they have is the best one. |

I agree....perfection. For me, the jubilee has the right amount of pop and bling. Visiting my AD tomorrow to pick up my new Sub Date. I do like what Rolex is attempting to do bracelet-wise to differentiate the Diver from the GMT.

I don’t own either of these watches but I really like the idea that has been mentioned several times before: BLRN on Oyster and BLRO on Jubilee. The pictures posted above showing this configuration are really stunning.
Either way it’s probably a good idea to separate the GMT from the divers/explorer ii line. It’s certainly an active person’s watch and certainly built like a tank. But I personally have a hard time calling it a “sports” watch in the classic sense compared to specifically the diver/explorer ii... at least IMHO. That’s also complementing it by the way. It just feels (looks) more refined than a go under water or into caves watch to me (even though it’s fully capable etc) and the jubilee definitely takes it up a notch. Nice picture. Really outstanding.
Both the oyster and Jubilee bracelets are awesome. The only difference is the people that own the Jubilee don’t insult the people that own the oyster. I owned the BLNR and bought a jubilee from DavidSW to put on it 2 years before the new one came out. I really think the Jubilee looks better on a GMT. A DJ too. The oyster is cool for the sub and explorer II.

The aesthetics goes for Oyster bracelet regarding this style, however those slimmed lugs and cool little crown on 6 makes me wan't the 126710BLNR over the 116710BLNR overall..

Looks like TRF is pretty much 50/50 on this one. Both watches are beautiful.

I think Rolex should offer these models with Oyster and Jubilee same way it does with the DJ. This will ends the debate and each get the bracelet he likes more.
I see it coming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There is a slight advantage 116710 due to the fact that this model has more users today. It will even out in a while.

I'd be inclined to go with the Jubilee to make the watch less stark...

I'd prefer to actually be given the chance to simply buy one (from a Rolex AD....)

^...So I could have the whole Rolex AD experience (just for once in my life).. and actually wear one out of a physical store, and own and cherish it for the rest of my life (like the marketing keeps telling us is what it's all about...)....

However you may be able to get other models from the AD with some work eg Milgauss, explorer 2, datejust etc |

I find the jubilee almost offensive. I don’t know why. I bought my wife a t datejust on jubilee and it is stunning and clearly comfortable. I had wanted a GMT all my life. But the Rolex decision to move the SS GMTs back to the jubilee is what inspired me to get an Explorer II. Clearly their decision was the correct one. Just not for me. But to Rolex’s credit, they make a watch for nearly every taste that can afford the make.

It’s a fashion thing IMHO.
I wore a Pepsi for years on a Jubillee, eventually tired of the look and went to Oyster which I’ve been wearing ever since. Now I think I’m ready for a change again and am on the waitlist for the BLRO on jubilee. What goes around, comes around I guess? But my ceramic LN on brushed sub bracket is still ‘hands down’ the most versatile of them all. |

Prefer the Oyster over the Jubilee.
Remember the GMTs' on Jubilee from the 80s, ugly as sin. |

My other 2 Rolex were bought online because AD's are useless in supplying watches I actually want to purchase So I guess getting a GMT from an AD and actually having the whole "Rolex AD" experience (rather than simply receiving a flipped watch in a brown paper bag) is just too much to ask.... Besides I actually want to support AD's (and their businesses), rather than random flippers who don't pay tax or wages to anyone else. And I don't wish to take the risk of receiving one of these new "real" fakes... Anyway. My "order" is in for both the batgirl and new pepsi on jubilees... I have asked for actual confirmation of the order numbers. Whether or not I receive written confirmation remains to be seen. (It's Interesting how RolexAD's can't seem to provide written confirmation of anything - in these days of modern digital communication, yet fraudulent behaviour and the high risk of fakes and thefts...) We shall see how it goes. Hopefully I'm still alive in 10 years and the RF is still operational c 2030 so I can report back to you how I went and with pictures of the watches... Cheers |

Hey.. this thread got me thinking...
If anyone has finally managed to pick up their new series2 BLNR from an AD, (but doesn;t like the colour or Jubilee) can they shoot me a PM.. But only real ladies and gentlemen please. If (after a couple of days of trying on your watch), you've had a change of mind on say the color of the bezel - and now want to go pepsi, or don't like the bracelet, it would only be reasonable to expect MRSP for your watch ... right? I'd do the same with onselling the one I don't want (if I ever get them)... I mean to a fellow watch enthusiast and RF member... ...in a collegiate manner and all... I'd be partial to the idea of obtaining one a bit earlier ... (We could even go back to the AD where it was sourced and take a couple of selfies so I could feel I was still getting that "AD" feeling....) Look forward to the PM guys and girls (if you discover the watch remains a touch too big after trying it on and wearing it a few days)... Cheers.... |

I prefer the Jubilee for the more refined look it offers making the GMT seem closer to a dress watch that can still take a beating.

Somewhat on the same subject, I'm looking to trade my 2013 oyster BLNR for the newer jubilee.
What sort of trade deal should I be looking for? In other words, how much $ do you think is fair to include in the trade? |
