IMHO, this watch looks best on flat wrists between 7 and 7.5 inches. There is too much overhang on your wrist. I really don't understand how some are encouraging him when you can clearly see it is too big.

Looks a little big too big to me. Great watch, but I just don’t have the wrists to pull it off.

I ordinarily don’t offer my feelings on discussions like this but I feel this watch is clearly too large for your wrist and will over the long term be quite uncomfortable.

Someone commented that if you are asking, then deep down you think it's too big. I agree and agree that it looks big on you. You'd be better off with a Sub. Good luck.

I would say you are ok wearing it as long as you get the bracelet sized appropriately.

It does look a bit big, but not ridiculously so. It should come down to comfort for you.

IMO, too big on any wrist. Some would disagree. Up to you. Of course in the photos it looks excessively large, but that’s by design, not you wrist.

I have the SD43 as well and it looks like you can get away with it size wise.

Too me that won't be the issue. IMO it will NOT be as comfortable as your 16610, EXP II and the BLNR, you seem to prefer that form factor. I have an older gen SD 16600, smurf, WG Pepsi and because they are smaller, low profile they do wear better on a daily basis. Perhaps the weight of the PM's helped, when I wear the SD43. While the SD 16600 is a tiny bit top heavy it's a smaller watch in generally and that is the one I wear the most.

I did have a previous gen DSSD which I sold for the SD43 and I can say the SD43 wears better than the DSSD, the bracelet tapers better and it is not as top heavy. My wrist size is ~7.25

I have other larger watches, PAM, Zenith Pilot so I'm used to the larger watches, the SD43 feels fine on my wrist as a daily. I wore it 2 months straight while in Europe w/out issues and it was my only watch I had with me. For me that's a keeper and no regrets in buying. When I saw the first photo's before Basel, I immediately reached out to my AD and told him I wanted one. I ended up getting one of the first releases and have been super happy with the watch.

So honestly you need to see if you can tolerate a watch that is slightly top heavy and larger on your wrist for long periods of time. You may need to get used to it, but I know some don't like the feeling of larger watches on them.

Man, to be honest, it looks too big.
However the photos do not always reflect the true fit.

Have you put the SD43 on your wrist ? When I did, I couldn’t believe this is the same watch I was seeing in pictures. It wears smaller than my Tudor GMT, less top heavy and of course lower.

Too big. Sub or GMT will look much better.

If the lugs go past your wrist, it's too big in my opinion. As another member posted, it's more than just the circumference of your wrist but the shape. I have 6 3/4 wrists as well but they are flat so I can wear 43mm at the top end.

Here is my TT SD43 and it fits fine. I think on you it looks a little big but ultimately if you like it, rock it.

Thanks for all of the replies, especially from SD43 owners with wrists <7".

I agree with Rori's comments. I was quite surprised how 'smaller' the SD43 appeared on my wrist. I wasn't sure if it was due to my own bias to love the SD43 or due to the gentle prodding of the salesperson suggesting that it was perfect for my wrist. However, the difference in weight was significant when compared to the Speedy Pro (on leather strap) that I was wearing. It's a significant purchase for me so I took pictures so that I could try to objectively decide about pursuing it. However, I often wonder if one can truly be 'objective' with watches...ha ha.

With regards to the suggestions about pursuing the Sub or GMT instead, I already have a 16610 and the BLNR-GMTII. It's funny... I always thought that I would be a 'one watch' person and thought the 16610 was the perfect watch. I now feel that way with the BLNR and the EXPII too. I'm hoping that this will be the same with the SD43 if I were to purchase it since it definitely has a more significant presence on the wrist.

It looks a little big tbh but it comes down to how it feels on you. 99.9% of people won't notice the size and even if they do... who cares? Seriously, if you like it then that's all that should matter. I wear a SD DS sometimes and from most angles it looks too big, but I love it and my vote is the only one that counts.

If you can swing a modern ExII, I think you're good. Though, I think it looks a bit large. Then again, I wear 34mm pretty regular with my 6.5 in wrist.

I think it looks just fine. It’s a big watch. It can look a tad oversized. Here’s mine.

Are they holding it for you as you decide? I can’t imagine that sticking around for more than a few hours at an AD, especially on the weekend!

Yes it is too big. Stick to 40mm. Ideally the best case proportions for modern Rolex divers are 5 digit submariner/sea dweller or SD4k Ceramic 40mm.

It's too big on you. If it doesn't bug you, then go for it. I have seen others wear watches that I consider too big for them and they don't seem to mind. As a side note, flat wrists get away with wearing larger sizes without it looking redonk.

fairly assumptive IMHO.

the best? for whom?

i prefer the six-digit cases and bezels by a goodly margin. positing your opinion as fact here.

i have a smaller wrist than the OP and have no issue with my SD43. is it chunky? quite. is it “too big?”

nah bruv.

your wee 5-digit cases are too small.

(jokes, here, fellas. it’s all personal preference and subjective. just making a point with that statement.)
