Trade worth considering?

Hi watch fam,
Hope you all had a good weekend.
Was wanting your input on a trade that has come my way.
I’m considering swapping my blob 2019 gmtmaster2 126710blnr and lnib 2019 sub date 116610ln for an excellent condition 2019 black Daytona 116500ln.

I love the blnr and it was previously my grail watch, however the Daytona.... well, you know.... is a friggin DAYTONA!

Anyways, just wanting your input and opinion on whether this is a trade you pull the trigger on as well!

Thanks so much.

J

Don't let hype suck you into a bad trade deal. I wouldn't do it.

No way. Those are two fantastic watches. The Daytona high will wear off and then the regret will set in

if the blnr was your grail you don't go chasing hype and trading it + another watch for a daytona

I might use one of those in a trade but not both. If it weren't for my GMT I'd forget just how elegant the Daytona is compared to that boxy super case.... which does have its place when you want something really chunky on your wrist.

It's nice to have access to both. It keeps the Daytona very novel.

I think that's a terrible trade & absolutely agree with the above. (Have you fallen out of love with the BLNR?) Get on multiple lists for a black Daytona & you will eventually get one if you really want one.

Why not save up for the Daytona. They make a very nice trio.

Not a chance; sounds like a very lopsided trade value-wise.

No. If u want. Sell both. Use proceeds to buy Daytona. If u traded straight up, you’d be leaving $ on the table.

Trading two stainless sport watches for one seems like a very unpopular trade.

You will 100% regret that deal.

Daytona is not worth the hype man. Trust me on that.

Like everyone else has mentioned before, no trade. NO way will I let two great SS watches go for one without a date and a complication which my ageing eyes will probably need glasses to use.

As others have said, not worth it. last year i traded and Hulk and Batman for a 116500LN White Face (+Cash) my way and now regret my decision, the Daytonas a nice watch, but not worth the hype or the pricetag IMHO

Disclaimer: I have sub date and black Daytona c and I love them both so I’m biased here.
I’m not as big a fan of the blnr so I’d trade blnr, add cash and get Daytona.

Another option is sell sub, get cash and get Daytona. The sub is easier to reacquire than blnr.

At the end of the day, do whatever makes you happiest.

As you can see it’s an unpopular idea

IMO trades like this usually don’t work out ... why? Because you’re giving up two watches you enjoy (one of them being your previous “grail”) for one that you think you’ll like more.

The answer IMHO is to add the Daytona.

I would never ever do that trade and that’s coming from a Daytona owner. Terrible trade! Sell one of the watch to fund the Daytona. As someone mentioned above, the sub is easier to obtain again. Ideally, keep both and get the Daytona for an awesome trio!
