I'd meet him at the Rolex that he bought it at, or somewhere else that the watch can be authenticated.

Other than that, no qualms with Craigslist ads.

Craigslist has that vibe for sure and its basically a platform for selling your used couch for $20 so a watch is out of place there anyway
Pics of your couch? LOL

Scam for sure. Why would someone go through this hassle of selling it through CL when they can easily sell it worry and practically hassle free to someone like David SW for more. And if it's because he is truly a WIS and wants the watch to go to another WIS, then he is likely a member here and would reach out here to another WIS. But go to the online capital of scams? Nah, doesn't pass the smell test.

Even if it were true, why wouldn't he just delete the post instead or marking it sold and leaving it up? Must be phishing...

IF it was legit, he is still profiting $700 even after sales tax. While this may be reasonable he is going out of his way to say he is simply looking to get what he paid for it and is not a flipper. Both untrue.

So much scams on sf craiglist that I don't believe it. Someone on Craiglist agreed to let me adopt a golden retriever, then that person said it was given away, few days later it was on list again but this time they wanted big bucks for the same dog.

I've bought 6 Rolexes from SF CL in the last 2 years but avoided that many scams as well. I didn't see this one pop up but I would not have contacted the guy if I had seen it. The whole post is one big red flag.

This is how someone ends up in a bathtub full of ice in a cheap hotel missing a kidney.

Not sure what to think, could be legit, could be a scam, personally I would not choose CL as my Rolex watch buying/selling platform. Prefer the safety of the forums and to a degree, eBay.

Plus I hate when CL sellers get all huffy in the ad before you even contact them.

I personally would never buy a Rolex off CL.

Too good to be true. Just because you are in a bank doesn’t mean you won’t get scam.

This would be very easy to deal with. Quick check in with Giovanni Passalacqua, then a pit stop at this guy's bank.

He’s clearing phishing for names and contact info. He is adamant about including contact info with name in the email to him. Very obvious.

So it’s either he got a lot of emails or someone got a great deal.

Or he will send you an email saying as a soldier of the 101st he has received a national emergency order from POTUS for urgent deployment at southern border to fight terrorists coming from Mexico. So his brother a soldier from the 82nd airborne will send you the watch as soon as you wire the money to him. And there will be people buying into this...

He went back to update the post to say "SOLD" when he could have just as easily taken down the listing. Scam scam scam.
