Spent my high school driving years borrowing my parent's 1995 Pontiac Bonneville. Loved that thing.

Bought my very own first car when I moved to California following college graduation for work. 2008 GMC Yukon - gas was knocking on $5/gallon and the recession was in full swing so they had 86 trucks on the lot. Brand new out the door for $30k TTL included. Put 175k miles on it and coincidentally just getting around to selling it out of the stable.

Great truck.

I worked summers and weekends while in high school and saved enough to pay $4K for a 1996 GMC Sierra with 225K miles! Luckily the engine was recently swapped and only had 5K on it. I was 17 when I bought it.

In 1978 I was pretty lucky and had a hand me down 1975 Chevy Monte Carlo which met an untimely demise when someone ran a light and hit me. For the next 4 years I had a 1967 VW Beetle which got me through college.

Got my first car in 1996

1986 Subaru GL-10 Turbo, in Lightning Silver.
Horsepower: 111 at 4800 RPM
Torque: 134 at 2800 RPM

It was a fun little car, and it was always under $20 to fill it up.

1982 Ford EXP - Looked just like this one, except mine was two-tone with black on the bottom.

The EXP was a 2-door Escort with only two seats ... so like any kid in the '80s I had two ridiculous 15" RF Punch subwoofers in the back.

My first car was a 91' Range Rover that I got for about 7k I think. Probably cost the same to keep it running for 3 years.

1967 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed. To this day one of my favorites cars. Ran is the HS drags three years on a row. If I remember we paid $2200 for this car in 1983. No show car by any means but all the original parts less the wheels.

01' Mustang GT blue and a ton of fun. Had it from junior year in HS to junior year of college. Man that thing was a ton of fun. My dad wanted to kill me for burning through tires and fuel. Learned how to correct a fishtail real quick though

2001 Toyota Tacoma - Extended Cab - SR5, 4x4, Automatic, and the big V6, not the little 4cyl - Slightly lifted, All-Terrain Tires, Flowmaster exhaust. I loved that truck.

My parents bought it for me. It was basically new with only 15k miles.

I sold it and I HATE myself for it. I graduated college and wanted a nice car, but needed the money for the down payment. YOUNG AND STUPID

Those things will run forever and I was basically the only owner. Sold it in 2010 with about 150k miles

Rover metro in British Racing Green. That was the only fast thing about it though. Did enjoy that car.

1969 GTO 4 speed manual. Verduro Green/black vinyl/black top. My father clearly did not want to pay for four years of college, but I ruined his plans and didn't kill myself in it. I have a pic but the small file sizes demanded on this site won't let me upload it. I drove (and drag raced it at the strip) for four years before trading it on a 3 year old '70 E-type roadster (pics of it as well; same deal with this site) that I drove year round through college in the Midwest. Bought the Jag with money I made summers working in the steel mills, spending every penny I had saved over two summers. Loved both in their own ways, but the XKE was the best thing ever. Never failed me and always was a delightful thrill to drive anywhere. Wire wheels with knock off hubs. Regency Red over biscuit/tan soft top/black factory fiberglass hardtop. I miss it to this day.
I have a car problem.

1967 Power Blue 4 door Chevrolet Impala.
396 CI (325 Hp) Turbo 400 tranny and dual exhaust from the factory.
Looked like an old mans car, but was a true sleeper. Felt like I was driving the Queen Mary when I took it on the highway because of it's size, and the way it handled.

1986 or '87 Buick Le Sabre, white with blue interior. Heinous. But it was a free hand-me-down from my grandparents, who had bought it new.

1966 Sunbeam Alpine, soon followed by a 1971 Lotus Europa. Alpine bought in 1969 and Europa in 1972. Drove Europa through College in Kansas weather (and I paid for both cars myself working for the State Highway Dept in Summer). College was cheap in those days!

1990 Honda Accord LX... man I loved that car. Was criminally dispossessed of it while it was in a parking lot at college and didn't even know until I had the very strong urge to hit Wendy's a few days after the fact...

Had already been stripped to its bones and parked on blocks.

Mitsubishi Minica.

I had so much fun with this car. Two cylinders 400cc of goodness (or lack there of).
It sure beats walking.

Not my pic...

In 1977 I bought a 1976 Pontiac Catalina two door coupe with a 400ci engine that put out about 150hp.
