68 Nova 3 speed manual. Loved that car. It had 60 series tires with chrome rims, Hijacker air shocks, glass pack dual exhaust, Clarion sound system. That was one cool car in its day.

Got my first car before getting license at 16. 85 Ford Mustang 5.0 Manual trans with T-top. Paid $1k for it then I get caught speeding a week later with no license. I got a $200 ticket and impounded for 30 days so it cost me another $900 to get out. I paid twice for this damn car Good times..

My first vehicle was a 1966 Porsche 912, with all the options (head rest, air conditioning).

I was in PHD, had received some money due to the unexpected death of my father the year before. Bought in 1989, I kept it 9 years and a half and sold it after buying (I should rather say "receiving", as I had to wait 2 years after the order for delivery) my second car: the Lotus Elise which I still own after close to 21 years.

I'm not a flipper, either for cars or watches... I sometimes change a model for another, but it is not frequent.

Mine was a 1995 ford ranger. I always wanted a pickup because it came in handy for works. I now use a Chevrolet Silver rod.

I had a 1989 white Honda Civic. Absolutely loved the car until the engine decided to die and it would have cost more to fix than the car is worth.

1984 Volvo 240 DL Turbo 2-door. My dad had driven it for a few years and gave it to me when I turned 16 after he upgraded to a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Manual sunroof, manual transmission, manual everything! And can't forget those uncomfortable headrests. I drove it until I was 27, when the clutch finally gave up the ghost.

Ha. Nope, just a stock 400/350HP 4 barrel. My best time with Mickey Thompson cheater slicks and the air filter off was 14.72/104mph. About like a nice minivan now. Won a couple trophies and $50 one time. Loads of fun.

Those "muscle cars" are quite slow by modern standards, but anyone who hasn't driven one doesn't understand the thrill of a crappy suspension with brakes to match. Seemed pretty fast at the time and an idiotic purchase for a 16 year old. But, like I said, I think he figured it was cheaper than 4 years of private college.

It's fairly incredible to think Avalons, Camrys, and some Tundras do 0-60 in <6s and they are holding them back.

Land Rover series 1 made in Birmingham England in 1955. What wonderful fun I had in that thing, trips out, off roading, it even took myself, and 3 friends camping to the South of France, I would have been 18 or 19, back in the early 1970's. Bringing back loads of great memories, thanks.

1970 Fiat 850 Spider. Red, cornered like it was on rails on Montana switchbacks. 52 horsepower, so it slowed to 50 mph on a gentle grade on the interstate. I wish I had one now.

I'm pretty late to buy my first car (24), I've driven all kinds of stuff but never owned a vehicle until recently. I bought a 1992 Volvo 240 polar, 2.0l 4cyl, manual.

I keep thinking of looking for one, but have never looked seriously. The first car I drove was my brother in law's 1965 4 speed robin's egg blue (no idea of actual color name) Beetle - didn't stall it.
In the cemetery well before I was eligible for a learner's permit.
Last one I ever drove.

My Sister and I got my moms 5 year old Ford Explorer, was probably a 1997 model. It was a cool car, but it was pretty unreliable. Quite a few times we got stranded in various parking lots when the car decided it wasn’t interested in turning on.
