What is the best Rolex for shorts and a t-shirt?

Obvious choice is a sub, but so many people wear subs that something a little more unique may work better. What say you?

Figured DSSD could work, but I wear that as my near-daily so it goes with all kinds of attire.

There is no right or wrong answer. For example, I will be getting a yellow gold Day-Date within the next year. I wear casual clothes 90% of the time. In the summer, shorts and t-shirt, in the winter jeans, t-shirt or sweater, and an old leather bomber jacket.

Take a look at some of the photos on the "WRUW today" threads and other threads where there are frequent photo postings. In one post you may see a guy wearing a Sub with a suit, and the next you see a guy wearing a blingy DJ or DD with shorts and t-shirt. Chances are nobody will notice you anyway, everyone is so glued to their cell phones and electronic devices.

Whatever you feel comfortable with, don't get a watch to please anyone but yourself.

Cheers,
Carl

There’s no dress code for shorts and t-shirt. Any Rolex is fine.

Any of those watches will look great with a T-Shirt. The Explorer I is dressier than the other models but that'll fit in just fine.

Explorer II is generally considered the most casual option so there's that.

I think all Rolex SS Tend to dress down nicely. Personally though, I’d go with the Hulk..

From TRF members photo shots recently I'm a fan of PM, even full PM, in shorts and casual attire.

Should be added to the vote for sure.

Yeah, the only watch that would probably look odd in a T-Shirt would be Cellini. Could still make it work but not ideal.

I don’t have one (yet?) but I think the Explorer is the most casual and unassuming of those watches, yet still very cool. Just what you want for a shorts and t-shirt combo but any of the above will work well. To me, the white Daytona is dressier than any of the others, but I’m sure it would go fine with that outfit too.

The obvious answer should be all of them but for my one and only vote, I went with the GMT Pepsi. IMO you could wear it in the boardroom or lounging poolside in your favorite t-shirt and shorts.

Most of them all the time, no only in shorts, except the Dweller, Daytona's and Pepsi for me.

A watch which is a inanimate object have no need to know or care whatever a person was wearing.
