I love the no date, but can’t live without the date. So date for me.

Submariner is arguably the most iconic of Rolex's sports watches with a great history. Cheers!

I usually remember what the date is. For me l prefer and purchased the Sub. It's really the cyclops that l don't care for.

Both are beautiful pieces. I initially went with the 114060 first, then traded for 116610lv. I miss the Submariner! Thinking about getting another one, but the 116610ln looks good as well. They should make the GMT II without a date and really piss people off. Then you won't have to worry about setting the date.

The submariner has a beautiful sense of symmetry and not having the date feels somewhat liberating.

Submariner vs Submariner Date

It just does everything so damn well and feels great in any occasion. That being said, The ND Sub may be the only watch able to replace my Sub Date, it would be an easy choice.

How can you ask me that? That's like asking which one of my kids I love the best. They are both beautiful in their own right. How dare you.

Function Over Form.

The SD is more functional to me. Since I'm always preparing one document or another (usually requiring the date), a quick glance and I'm done.

If it's made by Rolex and has 'Submariner' on the dial, then it's a Submariner. Who cares what it's made of and whether or not it has a date?

As for the choice of which one, I like a date but I wouldn't say it's better than the piece that doesn't have a date. Personal preference so go for whichever one blows your skirt up

I went no date for the simplicity, the Bond connection and the fact that I knew I'd end up with a GMT too at some point!

Totally true. The real sub is 007’s sub of Sean Connery and Steve McQueen. Mine says hello.

I have the SubC, I expect I will buy a 5 or 6 digit Sub date in the near future

Some love the SubC no date due to symmetry reasons but I absolutely LOVE the date feature. I have more situations where I don't have access to a calendar than the clock.
