This will tide me over....

I made a little purchase to tide me over till I can get that grail Ceramic Daytona! The next best chrono out there! It definitely has the same magic the Submariner has when you put it on. Blasphemous I know but its good to mix brands up once in a while!

Its early days and I can't compare to the Daytona but its starting to feel like it already! I never thought I would enjoy anything as much as a Rolex on my arm!

I love Speedys and to this day, the watch I regret selling THE most. The MSRP just jumped so much I can't justify it anymore. If I could buy pre-owned I'd be alright, but I prefer to buy new.

+1. Water resistance is the only reason I'd pick the Daytona, since I essentially never take off my watch.

Yeah I was a bit slow on the Speedy hype all these years so unfortunately I bit the bullet and paid full retail last week! But the Special Commemorative Box and accessories are worth it and to have it all brand new to make fresh memories with is so much better than buying pre-owned! Just gotta watch Apollo 13 again now!

Great watch brother!

Did you pick this up at a boutique? Were they willing to negotiate at all? I am looking to pick one up soon and am hoping to talk the Omega dealer down a little bit.

I actually bought it online from an AD so didn't really try to negotiate. I know ive probably lost a bit of money but its so much better buying a watch not worrying about investment value like a lot of Rolex purchasers have in the past. I just really want to enjoy the watch for what it is, a stone cold classic with a great history! I can't recommend it enough If you are on the fence take the plunge! Its definitely up there with my Sub!

I've got two Speedmaster Mark IIs ('69 and '14); I really love wearing the '14 even more than the Daytona C. I'm fond of the Mark II's tonneau case as well!!!

Check out DavidSW- he usually has these stocked and at better discount than a boutique and with better service (it’s where I got mine)

Nothing wrong with a speedy! I recently bought a Seamaster and am very happy with it.

I think a nice tan worn strap will really set it off aswell! That’s one of the best things about a speedy, the versatility in the strap options! Rolex’s are made for metal bracelets and are probably some of the best made! It’s nice to have a bit of change to alter the look of the watch!

You’re in for a shock if/when you get a Daytona. Your Speedy Pro is 42mm. The Daytona measures 38.5mm. Rolex calls it 40mm but it’s not even close. Love Speedmasters. Mine is the 44.25mm co-axial chrono, fitting for my 7 3/4” wrists.

Nice Speedy pro.....but seriously if you want a ceramic daytona these days for MSRP/discount....just forget the stainless and go for PM. Meanwhile enjoy an absolute classic.
