Great pics. Thanks for sharing. Btw, those little statues are called "shisa" not Ceasars. Where abouts in Japan do you live? I visit there about 2-3 times a year.

I spent quite a bit of time in Oki when I was younger and I truely miss the island and the people. Your photo shoot brought back lots of fond memories. Thanks for sharing.

You are correct. Just the way the Japanese pronounced them there sounded like Ceasars...

I am in Kyushu.

I've seen those before, nasty looking things though when you have no idea what it is or what it could do lol. When I tried going out of the water I didn't put 1 foot down. :D

Very nice pictures btw, looks great.

Tom, great pics. I've spent many a day in Okinawa during my military days, but never got to see the sights you showed us. Thanks! Just curious, do you speak Japanese? I'm curious how difficult it would be to get around daily in Japan if one did not speak Japanese.

Cheers, Tim in Hawaii

Hey Chief. Yes, I get along pretty well in Japanese. I studied at Chaminade University in your neck of the woods then came over here many many years ago on a student visa and studied in Kobe.

Went back home and finished my career then returned to Japan. Think I might be here a while. Bought a house.

By the way Tim even years and years after my Dad's retirement people in or who had been in the military still referred to him as Chief. I always thought that was so courteous and respectful.
