Trade in Rolex for Moser?

Been mulling this over for a bit, and feel free to tell me I'm crazy, but curious to hear thoughts on me trading my LVc (plus cash) for a Moser flying hours or a perpetual calendar. I can get a great deal on a flying hours and the perpetual calendar is relatively affordable from trusted sellers.

I would, if you wrist can pull it off. But do it with the knowledge that you may not be able to sell the Moser easily down the road as opposed to the Rolex.

If you have plenty of other regular style timepieces, then the Flying Hours in blue would be a novel distraction from them.
If you don’t, then the PC would be the safer bet.
As for letting the Lv go so you can experience something different from what you’ve been used to… why wouldn’t you? It’s only a watch.

If the numbers are right and you want the Moser then go for it. Depending on where you are with the Hulk you could leverage the market for much more of a watch.

I would for the perpetual. Everyday of the week. It’s in a league of its own. I told a good Friend of mine who has Muriel’s rolexes to look at Moser, and he told me that there reason he loved Rolex was because he was a brand whore. I must admit, we all are guilty of that....at least a little bit, but this an opportunity to be different with something far more superior.

OP, you are asking an open-ended question on the Rolex forum. What do you expect to hear?

That being said, Moser Perpetual is one of the classiest watches out there. I would do it!

Haha, that's why I hid my question on this side of the forum. I figure this gives me the most objectivity.

I appreciate all the responses. It's a very tough decision for me to be honest. My thought is that I currently have 3 divers, and (believe it or not) the LVc is the least worn of the three. The Moser PC is technically one of the best on the market and represents great value (especially used), so it's been tempting me for quite some time.

I would do it as long as you buying at a right price.
Both options are great and I really like the brand. Selling what is your 3rd choice diver (!!) to get something a bit different makes a lot of sense to me.
As to resale if you buy at the right price so you can sell as the right price then you will have no problem moving a Moser on, and I can say that from experience.
From the choice presented I would go for the green flying hours, but if I could I would go for one of the concept dials (blue lagoon in white gold).

I'd go PC, dump the LVc you can always get one again (if it was a 16600LV i'd say save for a little while longer).

Flying hours is cool, and the green one is especially nice vs the blue.
But I think it would be a novelty would wear of fairly quick, and would end up only coming out from time to time, rather than being a regular wearer.

I've been on the fence about adding one, but I know past taking a few wrist shots i'd never wear it as I like traditional hands.

On the the other hand, PC can be worn every day, it works in pretty much any situation except getting wet, white gold or platinum being the most versitile.
And on days like today you don't have to correct the date :P

Personally, I'd go for the Moser.... FH. I have a Sub, Rolex makes great everyday watches, but Moser is a step up.

Being a Moser fan I would say go for it, especially if you don't get much wear out of your LVc.

Out of the two I would say the PC hands down as it is simply a masterpiece in my opinion so totally with you on that one.

The FH is a little 'gimmicky' for me for what it's worth.

I will never never trade the LVc. Not for another Rolex, and definitely not for a Moser.

Terrible idea. This brand may not even be around in five years.

I would do it.

Only difficult to choose which one :-) PC more versatile.
The FH more special.

As you own a funky blue maybe I would choose the green one with Kudu strap.

Cosmic green is so tempting.
Have you tried the black titanium PC? I've yet to see that version in person. I like the look, but I'm afraid it might be too blacked out.

Unfortunately not but on pics it looks beautiful. And in real the Mosers are looking usually better. At least for me.
Although maybe in all Black Titanium the usual Gold, Fumé and Brown Kudu (or Alligator strap) combination won't "sing" to you as usual :-)

You should compare them on your wrist if possible.

Thank you.

I also just watched some YouTube videos of the watch. Absolute marvel, and it’s only a matter of time before people start realizing they make the best colored dials.
