5726a strap for 39.4k
5164a for 36k.
Both BNIB
64.

The 64 is retail if you add roughly 8% sales tax to the RRP which is $34k. The 26 you are getting at a discount but not enough to make me say its a better deal as that is basically the list RRP before sales tax.

Patek 5164a worth the premium?

To me — that scenario is pretty much a zero sum game — I’d pick the one I like the most and go with it.

I’m a sucker for an AC - so personally I’d go for the 26.

I know...and if you get it for 39.4 you are getting it at an 8% about discount as you have to pay sales tax which is the effective retail price of a watch.

The 64 is 34k and you will pay 36k to acquire it at retail when you pay sales tax. The 64 is a better deal just based on price they are asking vs value retention.

this is the way to go.... ultimately its a lot of money either way to not get the one you like best. The 64 is the better deal but not enough to settle for it if you prefer the other one

Pretty he wants the 26 anyway

I’m honestly on the fence, love them both! I would put the 5726a on a rubber B, was surprised how nice the piece looked that way.

Taste is all subjective. We like what others may not and vice versa. I like the 5167, but that is not to say the 64 is inferior. That’s what makes markets.

Absolutely — as is perceived value.

Many of the recents threads are a true testament to all of that!!

I Had both, but in my personal opinion, nautilus should be on a steel bracelet where aquanaut should be on a rubber.

given the 2 choices and taking the price element away, i would go with the 5164a. Although if it was a 5726/1a, it will be a tougher choice.

Premium over MSRP? No, you should grab one at MSRP, not above.

Premium over 5167? Yes. It looks better, the travel time function is useful, plus if you want a 5711 in the future, the 5164 dial differentiates it. The 5167 and 5711 with the same date layouts, overlap too much in my mind. Whereas a 5164 + 5711 is a stellar 2 piece combo.

If you want a sports patek - 36K for 5164a seems like a great "deal" in context of everything going on out there. I love it!
