A different type of thread about PCLs...

So most of the thread about PCLs on here (over-generalization of course ) are about brushing PCLs or how much PCLs get scratched etc...

I was part of those conversations and even brushed my own BLNR myself https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...47#post6975547 !

But as I went on to sell that piece and eventually get a BLNR back, I left the PCLs alone, then I owned my DaytonaC and left the PCLs alone... they eventually grew on me.

Fast forward to last week, I come across this thread through a google image search: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=488396 and just couldn't believe how beautiful a 16710 looks with PCLs (my personal opinion, yours may vary).

So I went ahead and got my bracelet professionally done and just got it back today; super excited how it turned out!

Thanks @Loevhagen for posting that image in August of 2016, you've inspired me almost 2 years later

Looks great but why not just swap out the BLNR bracelet rather than have this one polished?

Glad you’re happy with it

Personally I’d have left it as factory and you’d have a bit more variety in your collection. To each his own

I like it way better than on the current generation GMT. Current one is too “shiny” overall, between the bulkier case, PCL bracelet and ceramic bezel. However on the older version I think it provides a nice contrast, particularly with the subtle polishing on the sides of the case. After all, historically the GMT was the only SS pro to offer a version of PCL; in the form of a Jubilee bracelet...

I wouldn't do it to my 16710 Coke but I have to admit it looks great. What did they do with the clasp?

Thanks and you're right! The Jubilee is kind of a PCL oyster bracelet in its own way ;-)

I no longer have it - I missed the 5 digit case too much and, as much as I tried, I just cant get on with the supercase. It's too bad because the BLNR is definitely one of my all time favorites.

Same thing on the clasp. It basically all looks like a 16622 Yachtmaster bracelet now but with the coronet on the clasp as opposed to the flip lock: http://www.watchwallpapers.com/ymr10.jpg (not my photo)

Looks like an inexpensive homage watch. Sorry to say it but. You had to expect some negatives.

Looks good but the lugs should be polished to match.

I don’t know. I loved my YM, Tudor DJs, 79280p & GMTII-C PCL watches before finally getting 2 watches w/o PCLs (Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue & Sub Hulk). Now I prefer non-PCLs especially for non-formal occasions. If I want to dress up, I throw on a black leather buckle strap

I like how you left the case alone. It's harder reversing the shiny polishing on a case than bracelet if you ever wanted to get it back to original.

Looks nice.

I have a GMTIIc and I like how the PCL dresses it up.

I think it works great on your coke as well.

I like it...I think the PCL's look best on a colored bezel, like the LV or Coke/Pepsi. Just my thoughts.
