Members near Maryland are you interested in a watch meet?
Hello fellow members, I am considering starting a social group for watch lovers where we can have local meets, visit AD's and attend watch events as a group. I am sure I am not alone when I say "I wish I had more watch friends that were not on the internet"...lol
So I am thinking about having a local meet, maybe get a private room at a restaurant, sometime on a weekend in Maryland depending on everyones schedule and location. This will give us an opportunity to introduce ourselves and get to know one another. But first things first I wanted to check in and see who is interested in attending. This will also be posted on WUS, omega and rolex section. ~David |

I have three weeks left in MD; leaving to work elsewhere for six months and will return to my home in Oxon Hill thereafter. If we do this may I suggest dining at a Korean BBQ or going to Todai then going to the Nat'l Harbor for drinks and conversation. My 2 cents.
Thanks for asking David. ~JD |

I'm in!
Where's Todai? The closer to the City and VA, the easier it is for me. This weekend could work... if I don't deploy. I'm on standby for a deployment and have no idea when it'd be.

I live in D.C. but I would definitely be open to a GTG.

Sounds great guys thank you for replying. If we decide in Baltimore City I am thinking of trying to get a small private room at maybe Fogo De Chao, Mezze, or Pazo's as I want to make sure we have some privacy if people want to bring some of their watch collection to show. I do not want it in an open area where every can see what we are doing as it may cause some trouble. Although Korean BBQ at Jung Jak does sound delicious! but I go there far too much..lol
I am gonna wait to see if we can get a few more people before committing to an actual day as I would like to get at least 10 or more that will make it out. I can tell you it will be on a saturday or sunday and probably sometime in September. Tell your watch friends as well, hoping for a great turn out and a nice time. More info to come. David |

I could be interested, but September is out. I am fully committed on the weekends in September. Actually, the only open date for me through the middle of November is Sunday, October 10th.

It appears that majority of people are coming from D.C. and a few coming north of Maryland. I am trying to be fair in terms of distance for everyone so I am thinking either Baltimore City or Columbia Maryland. Also September 5th might be the day as it appears Sunday is a better day for some of you. Let me know your thoughts and eventually I will need a head count. thanks

Good to me (if I don't have to go).
Would the National Harbor be feasible?

Seriously, it's pretty much equidistant from Baltimore and DC, and it's easy to get here from NOVA. We have great bars, restaurants, and plenty of atmosphere. |
