New Porsche Cayman GT4 with 4,0 6 cyl 420 hp

Not sure about other countries, but Porsche has presented the new 982 Cayman GT4 with a N/A 6 cylinder engine and 420 hp

That's a nice little car. I've always had a soft spot for the Boxster since the 986 models. I'll never forget my first time being driven in one as a teenager. The vibrations in your back from the engine inches behind you was such a thrill! And the sound... Perfect for the open road!

With the amount of horsepower this Caymen has, at it's size, it's going to be a blast.

It will please the group that could not abide the turbo 4 in the 718s.
Now, if they would stick that engine in a Boxster without the "weight saving" manual canvas top (ie, a regular power top), that would get my attention.
Luckily, they most likely won't do that so I can remain happy with my C4 cab.

a good sign, 6 cylinder and NA, lets hope it catches on and we can go back to proper cars instead of all this turbo stuff

Not happening. Manufacturers have to meet ever tightening corporate fuel consumption and emission standards worldwide. They can afford to have a handful of halo cars like this in the mix but the smaller displacement turbo motors for most of the fleet is here to stay.

you dont know for sure, who is to say that techniques to keep good fuel consumption cant be developed with na, and that turbo is a lazy type of fix,

na engines last longer, wear better, so that in itself is economical.

I like it and Porsche stepped up on the power. The starting price is a little north of where I would ever consider one new but in the pre-owned market in a few years, maybe.

Not trying to be argumentive but this isn’t just a Porsche issue/solution, every manufacturer on earth is turning to smaller displacement/turbo engines to meet their goals. It’s not lazy, it’s current state of the art technology. NA engines will become an ever smaller niche until they’re gone.
I had and enjoyed a 991.1 911, but pretty sure the only non-turbo Porsche cars left are the GT cars.
