Iconic design

Seeing these two 36mm Day-Dates together, one brand new and one from 1965, makes me realize how little the appearance has changed in the intervening 50-plus years. There are not a lot of consumer items whose design is or was so stable - VW Beetles and Porsche 911s, Chemex and Moka coffee makers, and Ray-Ban Wayfarers all spring to mind ...

What else looks recognizable, yet still modern and right, 50+ years later?

The same could have applied to the Sub and GMT until about the mid 2000s..

The wideboy has more room for appreciation and is far more collectible.

Oh, those are all good!

I hadnít thought about clothes - Perhaps Leviís 501s, Red Wing and Tony Lama boots?

Maybe also some of the Eames, Herman Miller, or Knoll furniture designs, though idk if those were in continuous production.

Itís interesting how few there are.

I just wish they kept the radial brushing on the lugs, that goes for basically every modern reference though.
