Thanks! Have to agree with you. The bezel could be a tad thicker for better grip. I need to compare it to other Black Bays. Also, 120 clicks would have been ideal as I use the bezel as a simple timer often. Small critiques but no deal breakers.

Excellent write up. I love the look you have with the end links and band, really stunning. I love mine and have worn it daily for the past six weeks. I think it’s a great piece and one of the best Tudors. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Dan!

What a very nice write up, the photos are just fantastic. The link ends are really good, are these from Tudor? Finishes the watch off imho.

This watch and Tudor in general have really picked my interest since joining the forum.

The GMT could certainly be a great daily for me. Duel time zones very useful.

Will most defiantly be popping to the AD on leave.

Thanks! The end links are from Smartyjones but are now being sold by Strapfreak, here on TRF. They make any strap look OEM.

A good read, thank you My Tudor GMT is now 2 weeks old on a bracelet. Agree with your report. The watch is easy to wear and has the classic look. Tudor have come up with a winner. Priced very well and puts a smile on your face. Enjoy your GMT

I am very impressed you checked daily to ensure the date changed properly at 5 minutes after midnight.

Congrats! Awesome GMT!

Excellent photos and great review! Love it on that blue strap. I agree that this works best on straps (at least that was my experience), as the bracelet added a lot of heft to an already heavy Ish piece.

Glad you are enjoying it

Thanks! I didn't check every night but was awake for 2 of those to experience the date change.

Hey Dan,

Can you post a pic to show how the strap attaches to the end links?

Really like this look and am looking to do something similar!

TIA

Eric,

The end links don't attach, they just sit snugly and securely between the strap end and the case.

DP- Lovely watch, I hope you continue to enjoy it!

Can you advise if the case is smaller/slimmer than a Black Bay diver watch? It looks that way, and I always felt the BB was a bit thick for my taste.

For what I see and hear, the GMT case is exactly the same dimensions with diver,
ie approximately 15mm thick.

Thanks, Sol!

I don't have a BB diver to compare. The bottom edge of the sides on the GMT are chamfered which gives it a slimmer appearance but don't know if it's actually slimmer profile. I happen to like thicker watches and have never had an issue with them.

Nice write up Dan. It’s a pretty compelling watch. I’m glad you’re enjoying it as watch to be worn and admired by its owner. Thanks for the strap pointer. Suspect that it will be with you for a while, a long while. As it should.

Thanks, mate!

The GMT has exceeded all expectations and has brought back my passion that was somewhat subdued of late. As I stated before, just like the THC, I find more reason to love it the more it's worn. That's about the best you can expect with a new purchase.

I've worn my new Tudor GMT since last Friday when it was delivered to me, thanks again, Kevin! I wanted to give a few comments on what I've experienced in the last 7 days.

Accuracy: Since setting this watch last Saturday morning [when taking a few pics] it has not deviated + or - one second from the atomic clock. Without question the most accurate and consistent watch I've ever owned.

Bezel: As I've stated before I love the muted Pepsi colors. Also love the font of this classic aluminum insert which I much prefer over ceramic. The coin edge bezel works smoothly and the thin profile adds to the vintage aesthetic.

Crystal: The boxed sapphire crystal appears more like plexi, with all of it's advantages as well. Doesn't show fingerprints, like my 16710, and has a glow like plexiglass.

Dial: The fine silver printing on the dial, along with the thinner profile handset and hour markers creates a vintage vibe that brings a smile every time. In fact, the very first image that comes to mind when I glance at my GMT is vintage, and that's a very nice first impression.

Straps/ bracelet: I was originally looking to use my THC bracelet. But just like my THC the GMT seems best on various straps. The THC bracelet end links really didn't follow the same curve as the case. Also, I think a dark blue strap really brings out the bezel colors. To that point I've experimented with my favorite brand of rubber straps, Bonetto Cinturini, the 328 nato and Zuludiver 400CT. Combined with custom end links the 400CT makes for a perfect combo. Comfortable, matching colors, solid adjustable clasp, and the carbon fiber etching, which is subtle, yet really looks great as it catches the light from different angles.

Movement: As a constant traveler I really love the new in-house movement with the quickset 12 hour hand. It's the reason my 16710 has been a favorite of my collection. The date function has worked flawlessly, changing about 12:05 am nightly. Should the date issue rear it's ugly head, I'll certainly be disappointed but will deal with it.

Just like my THC purchased in 2001, this Tudor GMT really ticks all the boxes for me. The design reaches back to classic elements and the solid modern construction makes for an overall great package. The fit & finish are on par with my 16710 [I can hear the snickers now]. With the exception of this years controversial releases Tudor has caught the imagination of enthusiasts over the last decade and I'm sure they will in the future as well. As long as they give me a reason to dream every 10 years or so, Im happy.

Thanks! It's very comfortable. The Bonetto Cinturini rubber allows enough "give" with your wrist movement that's just not present with the bracelet. Comfort has climbed higher on my priority list and whether it's the 400CT or 328 rubber nato Bonetto Cinturini straps have become my favorites.

As an owner of one I have to agree with you in many ways. But I have 3 huge issues with this watch

1) the date issue, which to be fair I have been told can be sorted out. Just requires going without the watch for a while.
2) the bracelet. The riveted bracelets really is a disappointment for me
3) the thickness. I have tiny wrists tbf, the thickness makes it uncomfortable and just far too much.

If it was thinner and the original black bay bracelet I believe itís a 10/10 watch.

So do they work with the original leather strap? Is so, do you have a pic?
