1675 Feedback

Hello Folks

Looking for your thoughts on this 1675

Looks to have the dreaded RSC intervention. Service insert, dial, hands and a new bracelet 78360 with 580 end links.

Serial seems to indicate 1968 but the caseback is 72.

Not a dream but a decent daily driver?

Thats a rough case, pinched crown guards, lugs have been thinned out quite a bit, chamfers are going down into the lug holes which seem wore out themselves. Full service parts(dial, hands, insert) are great for daily wear IF it passes pressure test but such poor case condition is a deal breaker. I say keep searching.

What a poor sad watch.

You could spend.....
6-7k for long E dial and hands
3k period insert
1.5 laser weld case repair
Call it at least 11k. This watch for me would have to be 7k or less to make any sense.
but if your just going to wear it daily or until it falls off your wrist, then why not.
Most people would pass and spend more on a better example.

ps To make period, would also need a plexi, 7836 bracelet and 68 case back, another 2k plus

Good luck!

It was offered up at 6250 so the price reflects the issues I guess.

To me 6k sounds good to start a project and restore it back to a more original condition over time.

Has it been serviced in the last 8-10 years? if not another £800 plus parts.

That 7 o’clock lug hole is hard to look at. I guess someone would be able to restore it to look acceptable with enough laser welding time.

Agreed. Hard pass. Save your money and buy something nice. It’s always worth it in the end.

That bottom-left lug hole is almost breaking through the case due to over-polishing. I wouldn't buy this at any price.

Those who know did not make it clear for those who don't, so, just for the record, that's a fake insert.

From a selfish point of view, I would love to see the before and after on this.
It would be great to see exactly what can be achieved with laser welding on such a bad case.

Go for it!!

Quoting myself, as I was wrong and stand duly corrected by a knowledgeable anonymous friend:

"this is a genuine insert... the weird service one"

Sorry all, thank you Mo.

Bitsa watch (much service items) with what looks like luminova handset....but £5500-6000 sterling is about its value imho.
