You can't go wrong with either one, funny though to me. I'm trading my Air King in for an Exp. II Polar. I'd like to have both but l have the itch now and l feel l can't pass up this deal money wise and the Polar will round out my collection perfectly.
In your case if it will be a one watch choice I'm not the person to give advice, love both! One thing though the AK always put a smile on my face.

If he’s not into watches buy him a Casio, or Sekonda.

If you go ahead and buy him a Rolex, make it the Explorer ii

I'd say the Explorer II for sure. I personally feel the Air King is a bit busy in terms of design.

I'm in the minority here and prefer the AK... wears nice on the wrist to me

If the friend is young and not a watch fan, I'd seriously recommend a G-Shock and not a Rolex.

I vote for the Air King! One other item that is not often mentioned is that the AK is a Milgauss build with a different face and sport hands, really cool combo!

I don’t think there’s a wrong choice either way

Ex ii is a better choice for a young guy. Black or White are both beautiful.

I like both. But I they have large wrists like I do go with the Explorer II in Black.

As mentioned, I just traded my Air King for the Exp ll, it was a hard choice letting the AK go but I just peeled the stickers off of this Polar and I couldn't be happier now.

There is no right answer. It depends on what he would like. I personally chose the Explorer 11 because it's a great combination of being masculine and elegant. It's also unique looking and built like a tank.
