Very cool.
Thanks for posting!

Finishing is OK, not particularly special.

There's a fair bit of space around the 3130 in the Sub. Guess that makes sense if it's like the 3135 except for the calendar wheel and the 3135 is used in the 34mm Date model.

Speake Marin is a true master of craft. He has his own watch line which is one of the few independents that interests me, yet you can tell he is still enthusiastic about a simple mass produced Rolex watch.
Thank you for posting this.

Fantastic video and great comments. I agree with virtually everything said here. Speake-Marin's comments about what things do and why this is especially well engineered really add to my appreciation for the watch and (slight) understanding of how they work. I forwarded this to a buddy with a Sub (and Lange 1 and Daytona) who isn't on this forum and I'm sure he'll love it.

I find the videos, especially the high def ones, really entertaining that show the inner workings of a watch. Especially the highly decorated ones like ALS or Patek. But this one adds just enough dialogue to help me understand what I'm seeing and why it's designed the way it it. Thanks for posting!

I totally agree. I have a 1998 Two Tone Blue Submariner with the old bracelet and clasp and it looks and feels much cheaper.

The new bracelets with the Glidelock and Easy Link are wonderful and like Peter said, perhaps the best out there of any watch!

Now how long will it take before somebody uses this video to try to service their watch themselves before getting stuck and shipping it to a rsc in a ziplock bag?

Very cool, but man did watching that give me anxiety. All the chances to lose something, scratches, overwhelmed my OCD. Glad he explained the purpose of the jewels. I did not previously know their function.
