"Naked" SMP

What is everyone's thoughts on buying a watch without box and papers? I found a great deal on a SMP Chrono that was bought at a Jareds location that quit selling Omegas. Apparently the final Omega's were sold naked. This particular one was just recently serviced at an Omega SC and comes with a 2 year warranty. Also, it has all the documents from being purchased at Jareds.

??????

If you are comfortable with the seller and the price is reflective of the situation with the box and papers then go for it. The Service Papers are almost as good as a warranty card and you can source a box and manuals should you desire. I like the watch and with the information you provided I would go for it.

Yep, I wouldn't have a problem with it considering the seller. Go for it.

Box and papers are probably overrated. Like most of us on here I am neurotic when it comes to my watches. That said, I would probably buy a "naked" watch so long as the deal was excellent and I had no plans to resell.

I recently bough a Breitling Chrono-matic from 2009 that was new old stock. They had most of the papers, but were actually able to send it off to Breitling for a service, new box, and warranty activation before I got it at a stupid discount. At the price offered, I would have bought it for the watch alone with service.

As usual, buy the seller. If its the national brand Jared's, you're pretty safe all things considered.

Boxes take up space, and are cumbersome. If the watch is in good condition and you really like it, pull the trigger.

Box and papers matters a little more to you when you sell it. I'd have no issue with Jared's. Just make sure the price reflects the lack of box and papers and condition.
