My first Rolex was a 116710BLNR. I'm now on my 3rd and none of them are Subs. I don't plan to add a Sub to my collection.

Yes, GMT II. 116710LN. Excellent understated watch that can be worn with anything.

Yup! Just the BLNR under the Rolex banner. GMT is super practical for me for (in non COVID times) business travel.

Diver is covered with Omega and Tudor. Will happily add a Sub when the time is right, but love, love, love the GMT

Some people fall more into the classic mode than sport, and will have only a DJ/OP or even an Explorer- that would make sense for someone less sport-driven in their style.

I personally fall into the first camp- had a Explorer II as only Rolex for quite some time...then I found a YM that I've loved since circa 2000 and added that about 2 weeks after the Explorer II. The YM fills the Sub niche while being a bit more than run of the mill, and the Explorer II has the GMT complication for travel, so each has a place.

I can see plenty of reasons to only have/need/want 1 Rolex...but I can think of ways to justify 3-6 pretty easily, as well!
There's a reason so many have a black sub... it's a sexy beast!

Before my WIS days started I wore a 34mm Air-King with a blue 3-6-9 dial daily for probably 6 or 7 years. I always looked at others from time to time but I was never able to justify buying another one. I’m not sure what quite changed but at some point I made the plunge into acquiring more than one. That was pretty much the beginning of the end for me. I’ll say this... there’s a lot of benefits to a one watch collection. I doubt I’ll ever be able to go back. But sometimes I envy those who have been able to do so.

I started off with a Yach-Master, then added a Sea-Dweller and finally acquired a Sub albeit TT Bluesy.

Explorer II. Had a hulk and Batman but sold them. Want diversity in my collection. Only one watch from each brand from now on.

No Sub here, too big for my wrist. I have a DJ 36 for business/formal and an Exp. II 16570 for everything else. It is 40mm also but wears much smaller than the Sub. If Rolex came out with a smaller Sub like the Tudor BB 58 I'd consider it.

Not much diving going on here in NM.

Daytona SSS Ceramic white dial (1 year wait)
Yes I will keep in my family (hopefully)
1st Rolex purchase. Wanted to get the BEST
Daily wearer, but not at the work desk

I do wish for a Sub sometimes due to the Daytona PCLs. Also love the RG Yachtmaster40.

Won’t be buying anything new for at least 3 years.

Count me in. My only Rolex at the moment is a 1977 1601 two-tone.

Does Anyone Have a One Rolex Collection and it's not a Sub?

I have only my Rolex 16600 with a Glidelock Clasp. (And a SD is not a Sub) :-)

Yes, I have Business-Travels, but more often I use the diver’s bezel to count minutes etc. That‘s why I didn‘t purchase a GMT Complication.

Still I like the 126711 CHNR. Maybe sometimes in the future.

If I had only one it would have to have the dual-zone complication, so either an Explorer II or GMT.
On the other hand, my Datejust had been my only watch for over 25 years....

I had a GMT for 9 years as my lone Rolex. It was my daily driver and I love it. I find the GMT to be every much an icon as the sub. My kids can have it if they want it when they grow older. I eventually got a Daytona as my second Rolex. It is pretty but still prefer the GMT if I could only have one.

Not a sub either. My 116500 is my one rolex collection at the moment. Love it.

I’ve had up to 5 Rolexes at one time but one by one they all got less and less wrist time while my trusty Explorer II got the lion’s share. I’ve unloaded everything but the Explorer II.

It’s my all-time favorite watch and the model that got me into the brand.

I’d like to add a total change of pace one day. Perhaps a JLC Master or JLC Polaris on leather. I’ll buy it used so I don’t feel bad about spending so much on something that’s an occasional change of pace or mix in. But if the Explorer II was my last watch ever I’d be thrilled. I love the damn thing.

Interestingly my twin brother has one nice watch and it’s a Submariner.
