Credor Eichi II
At last, received my Eichi II!
Unfortunately PJ S, I did wanted to do a comparison between the 8 days and Eichi II but last month I sold it to help fund an art piece that I wanted. The 8 days is a great watch but too big as a dress watch and I have not been wearing it much. Plus it's not a limited piece so I do not see any investment value in keeping it while I am having another Micro Artist Studio watch coming in. Onto the the Eichi II, as you can see a comparison that SJX did here: http://watchesbysjx.com/2018/02/comp...-eichi-ii.html It is a much more wearable watch compare to the 8 days because of the size, but the 8 days has a stronger presence and my wife said is better looking The backside is what attracted me to this watch, there are more to see and despite the lack of inward angle anglage, which is often a criticism compare to Dufour's Simplicity, Eichi II does have some finishing that the Simplicity doesn't exhibit, countersink's distance with the anglage. I don't have a good close up lens but if you read the link from above (and as Hodinkee's article on the Eichi ii also have pointed out), the beveling varies in its proximity to the countersink, from relatively distant, to just barely touching at their exact edges, and to actually flow across a countersink. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/se...chi-2-in-depth I don't know exactly how hard that is but Patek failed here with their half million dollar MR, and the countersink polishing is also poor, compare to the Eichi ii. It is a simple and boring watch, for people who appreciates hand finishing at its finest. Eichi II will now serve as my daily along with the current daily 5131P. |

Majot congrats Tom... or should it be congrats Major Tom?
Firstly, you daft tit! Secondly, your wife is rather savvy. Thirdly, that art piece better appreciate, so you can acquire the RG Night Sky version, when you eventually get bored of looking at and dusting it! And lastly, a great pair of watches to be faced with, when deciding which gets worn each morning. |

Classy watch. Congrats. Credor is probably the pinnacle of Seiko watch offerings.

I almost want to thank you for buying this. Without collectors like you, Seiko wouldn't be able to keep on producing these great Credor watches

And as I have posted in another thread, there will be a new top of the line platinum GS at Basel, can’t wait to see what it’s going to be. Hope it’s not using the 9R01 8 days movement though, because it would mean it’s a big watch. I prefer dress watch more moderately sized. |

That is probably one of the most beautiful watches I have ever seen. Many congratulations.

It’s not a watch....it’s a steel sculpture of Donald Duck my daughter saw and liked it so I decided to buy one, and to which my wife found it totally unnecessary so wouldn’t let me spend money on it and therefore I sold a watch to help fund it. Technically that is not spending money....if you know what I mean..... |

The sculpture sounds interesting. Great that you let your daughter dive into these things, naturally. I always wished there was a sub-section on the forum for art and art collecting.

Interesting reading.
A bit surprising macro of the 5131. Always a joy to see finishing like the Eichi (great similarity to the Dufour.)

Did you ever approach Patek Service Center regarding that? |
