Winter is coming

I've been a Rolex guy for a long time and due to the current state of the Rolex market, I decided to add a Grand Seiko to my collection, and boy am I glad I did! My SBGA415 says hi

The finishing is of course superb, but since this is my first titanium piece, the lack of weight definitely takes some getting used to. My Sea Dweller feels as heavy as a rock right now :-D

Very nice! Congratulations. I love that dial & the pink one - such beauties.
Snow is literally in the forecast next week for me... sigh!

Thanks. The Spring season (pink) one looks amazing as well, but I personally find this one a bit more versatile.

Looks good.

I'd like to see a well worn titanium GS to see how it holds up.

Don’t know if it’s against forum rules to post links to another forum (if it is, sorry MODs), but have a look at GS’s official reply regarding their high intensity titanium (their proprietary alloy) here:

https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/t...dness.4489521/

I think it will hold up well over time.

That is interesting but I feel like I’m still not convinced of anything. I didn’t even know they black polished titanium I thought that was only for steel.

When I buy a GS I will wear it daily and it’ll get beat on heavily. I wonder if it would look pretty yucky compared to getting a submariner and beating it up heavily.

Not a huge deal. But I know that black polish is a hallmark and I’d scratch the hell out of it in a few months and probably ruin the finish. Maybe they will make a case with little black polish on outside and just do the inside where it’s safe from my ogre hands.

Scratches won’t bother me when they happen (you should see the bracelet on my Explorer...), but fingerprint marks are definitely more pronounced on titanium.

Thanks and congrats as well, love the piece! I was in fact pondering whether to get it instead of Winter, but the spring drive movement & dial won me over in the end.

Great watch...congrats
That case style goes way back to the first automatic Grand Seiko in the 1960s.

Thanks, I’m loving the 62GS case. Great proportions and fit.
